Great holiday for all
Review of Cancun (Mexico) by ZoltanLouis

Advantages: beautiful sea, wonderful Mayan ruins, top quality service,
Disadvantages: You have to come home!!

...The holiday resort of Cancun on Mexico's Caribbean coast is becoming increasingly popular with U.K. travellers each year, and with all it has to offer it is easy to see why. But Cancun has just lately developed a reputation of being a party-all-night, sleep-all-day sort of place. This is somewhat unfounded. True enough, there is a host of night clubs and bars for the more nocturnal of folk, but Cancun can quite easily accommodate those who want ...
...Snorkelling or diving off Cancun is recommended. The sort of fish and coral you might expect to see in an aquarium back home, are actually within touching distance, and the vivid colours of the marine life must be seen to be believed. First time snorkellers will be amazed, the only thing to be wary of is the reef itself, which will cut you if you brush past it as you swim. Popular snorkel sights are near Isla Contoy and Xcaret. Contoy is Mexican ... Read review

Will you be Coco Bongoed?
Review of Coco Bongo, Cancun, Mexico by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: unique, in your face, great entertainment, superb value for money.
Disadvantages: bit cheesy - but meant to be

..."Vegas showtime meets the party", Coco Bongos is entertainment extraordinaire, based in a fabulous location in the hotel zone in Cancun, Mexico, it appears that all the locals, hoteliers, holiday reps and anyone who has ever been loves it and given we were on holiday in Cancun for our friends wedding we just had to try it. Given we were there for a wedding and due to lack of babysitters there was no way everyone could go at the same time we decided ...
...Mask, will be familiar with Coco Bongos as it appeared in the film (as itself so to speak). It certainly knows how to publicise and market this fact and I am sure even the Beckhams could learn some PR tips from Coco Bongos. Entry is circa $50 and we had bought tickets from our holiday rep in advance and got there early. The rep had waxed lyrical about it but we thought that was hardly a good testimonial on account of him getting a cut of the entry ... Read review

Smile an everlasting smile.
Review of Dolphin Discovery, Riviera Maya, Mexico by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: up close and personal with nature
Disadvantages: expensive and extras make it very expensive

...must go and do the dolphin trip. This review is not about the rights or wrongs of wild animals being held in captivity but about the experience itself. What I will say is that the dolphins are kept in a natural environment so they cannot either escape and predators cannot get in. They are extremely well looked after, cared for with deep affection by the handlers and stimulated and to my untrained eye appear very content. Dolphin Discovery is based ...
...after you have left! The dolphin encounter was absolutely superb and you are up close and personal and it is then you realize why it is so expensive. You are constantly photographed either kissing or being kissed by the dolphins (two of them), being pulled along by the dorsal fins or being pushed straight out of the water by them. At speed! You are in the water with them constantly and it is magical. And your grin grows bigger by the minute!! In ... Read review

Well shiver me timbers.
Review of Capitan Hook and his Crew, Cancun, Mexico by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: great entertainment, free food and drinks
Disadvantages: bit cheesy but enjoy it for what it is

Whilst on holiday it was my birthday and given there was a large party of us the inevitable question as to what we were going to do popped up. A few bright sparks suggested the Captain Hook cruise as it was apparently a bit cheesy and it would be right up my street, A few of the woman agreed with this as they had heard there was a Johnny Depp lookalike on one of the ships, masquerading as a pirate. We therefore found ourselves paying US$102 each ...
...Captain Hook cruise. A more accurate description would be the Captain Hook experience because your party is randomly assigned to one of two 17th century replica Spanish Galleons. You then sail off into the night and a couple of hours later the two ships meet up for a mock battle, leaving one of the captains victorious (the one who lost the previous day no doubt). In between though is two hours of full on cheddar cheese entertainment that is so wooden ... Read review

not only "vice and sin"
Review of Tijuana (Mexico) by traveller55

Advantages: *****
Disadvantages: -

...just kept the control of Tijuana after the Mexican revolution.. From 1915 this city became a destination for some Americans of San Diego that come here for horse races and cockfights, to bet in the casinos. Then, two years later, the Government of California decided ti shut-down all cabarets and Tijuana was ready to open them on its territory and the number of people from San Diego increased a lot. Tijuana become the "wildest in the wild" when ...
...preferred destination. Also nowadays Tijuana is the destination, during the weekend, for the young Californians that come here to satisfy their thirst of alcoholics (this is not really something to imitate) as in California you must be 21 to order an alcoholic drink. Youths and elders run to Tijuana and fill the "lap dance" premises as they are more permissive than in California. In conclusion Tijuana is a frontier town that has kept during the ... Read review
