Advantages: Tropical Paradise, Havana, All inclusive hotels.
Disadvantages: Scary Customs.

...as Dollars but worthless outside of Cuba basically this is to keep as much hard currency in Cuba as possible. In addition there is a separate currency for the locals. Flights and Arrivals = We flew with Airtours from London and the flight took about seven and a quarter hours. Leg room was very cramped for a long haul flight and at one point I had a small altercation with the person who was unable to put their seat back (as I'm 6'2 and have legs) but this was easily solved by a quick seat swap. Arrivals in Cuba were the most intense customs I have ever faced, they take you into a booth (separating families) one at a time and ask you to prove you are financially viable as well as look like they are going to take a knife to your passport. ...potholes but after a few rums you barely notice. Fares are generally cheap - around a dollar for a ride across town but agree a price first. In Major cities its possible to travel by taxi in one of the old American Cadillas or Impalas which have been lovingly taken care of. CURRENCY Cuba has two currencies. The American Dollar was accepted until November 2004 but now the main currency used by tourists is the Convertible Peso - one of these is the equivalent of one US Dollar. These are what Cubans want to get their hands on becuase it means they can shop in Dollar shops which sell all kinds of consumer goods they could not ordinarily buy. The other currency is the Cuban Peso. There are 25 of these in a Convertible Dollar. You should change around fifteen to twenty pounds into Cuban Pesos in order to buy street snacks, ice creams... The nearest tube station would be Oxford Circus, but Tottenham Court Road would not be too much farther to walk. Generally, because of where I park my car when I travel to London, Oxford Circus is an easier tube stop for me to get to this particular hotel. As you walk up Berners Street, with Oxford Street to your rear, then the hotel is located approximately 200 yards on the left hand side, beyond The Berners hotel, that you may note on the right hand side...
