South Seas rooms very nice!

Advantages: Lovely rooms, helpful staff on reception, nice pool area.
Disadvantages: Not good in a crisis!

We stayed in the South Seas hotel in August 2005. During outr stay in Miami the MTV Awards with being held in the area and the hotel next door had been turned into Hotel MTV. This was amazing as there were many acts on at the pool parties and several celebrations going on that we could join in on. A large set back during our stay at the South Seas was the Hurricane Catrina which hit the area. This is obviously not the hotels fault but the bar and ...
...The rooms at the South Seas were excellent, always kept clean and the bed was big and comfortable. The rooms were very small though and due to the hurricane we had to stay in them for a while. Staff at reception were very helpful offering us advice on where to go and where to eat. The man on the valet parking was also very helpful, which cost us $20 per night, this I felt was a bit steep, but it has to be done, if your hiring a car there is nowhere ...

Winterhaven Hotel, Miami Beach

Advantages: Lovely little hotel
Disadvantages: Limited amenities, but what do youe expect for 2*...?

We stayed at The Winterhaven Hotel for a few days last summer, on Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami's Art Deco Historical District. We booked this hotel based purely on it's looks and location, and were not disappointed in either department ! When the Winterhaven Hotel opened in 1939 it was advertised as an "ultra modern" hotel with "large outside rooms," "a skytop solarium," "spacious lobby and mezzanine," "large veranda overlooking the ocean," ...
...along one wall. The Winterhaven Hotel is a small hotel, and is located directly across from the Atlantic Ocean towards the top of Ocean Drive. Although not right "in the thick of things", it's only 2 minutes walk from where things are a bit busier, and you'll appreciate that when it's time to sleep and a million drunk tourists are partying hard out of earshot down the street... National Hotel, Miami Beach

Advantages: Great hotel, great location
Disadvantages: Not that cheap...

We stayed at The National Hotel for a few days last summer, on Collins Avenue, one block from Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami's Art Deco Historical District. Built in 1939, the 13-story National Hotel lobby contains original period antiques and richly designed wood furnishings. Eating at The National is great, but as it's only a five minute walk to Ocean Drive where there are a hundred excellent eateries, it seems a shame not to eat out - and you'll probably save yourself a few quid (or dollars) too... Disadvantages: Looked for other accomodation

I stay here several times a year, mostly business. It is the only hotel in the terminal and very convenient. Rooms are smallish but comfortable, and overall it is an acceptable hotel for a short transit-type visit.. I recently guaranteed a one night stay with a CC, but when arriving after a long business and travel day, the hotel was "full" and my reservation was nowhere to be found. Four Points, none of them good points!

Advantages: You're only visiting...remember!
Disadvantages: Dirty, unkept, unhelpful staff, dodgy kitchen workers.

...& I went to the Four Points Miami Beach for a few nights post cruise. After having an exceptional holiday on the Freedom of the Seas we found ourselves "dumped" in the hotel from hell. Upon arriving at around 9am we were told our room wasn't ready as it was still occupied. We did book the hotel 10 months in advance so we didn't expect that. We had to leave our luggage in a little storage room and find something to do so we went to have a look around ...
