Just need to point out to wannabe customers that Midland Mainline will lose the contract for this service from November 2007.From this date Stagecoach will take over having won the franchise announced on June 22nd despite Midland having good rolling stock / staff / and a 92% average punctuality record and in addition an excellent record in carrying and looking after disabled passengers. Stage coach have stated that fares will rise by over 3.5% per year over and above the annual rate of inflation and will be aiming at hitting a 90% punctuality target (below the existing franchise) which beggars the question WHY DID THEY WIN IT AND WHO MADE THE DECISION?.This will only drive customers away from public transport (which is the opposite of the governments intentions) and back to their cars.Stagecoach in fairness have said that they will speed up the trip from Sheffield to London by twelve minutes (wow) however will this be attained by just missing out a stop on the way? only time will tell.

Interesting rant, but not really about the subject, so I haven't rated it. Maybe you could have written more about the service from Midland (I appreciate you wrote a little) and how they have served you really well in the past; what made them so special; how long they served your area,blah blah. The review was more about Stagecoach, and maybe you could do another review under Stage coach? You can also totally disregard this comment if you prefer, lol! Gwen :-)
