I am on a Dance Team at a University and a dance camp was being held in Wisconsin. The team and I booked a flight on Midwest Express from Newark Airport in NJ. As I entered the plane, I was delightfully surprised to see the seating was wide and roomy with a lot of leg space. The over-head compartment was bigger than then the norm, as well as a stowaway space under the seat in front of you. They also provided an extra space for a purse or what have you, along with plenty of leg room to spare. The seat's comfort was like sitting on a bed of clouds, nice on the tush.
Take-off was right on schedule, without delay. On take-off, the pilots eased the elevation gradually, making it extremely smooth for the passengers.
Safety policies were much stricter than other airlines. When one flies with Midwest Express one MUST keep their seatbelts securely fastened throughout the entire flight, unless prompted safe to use the restroom, but when you return to your seat, the seatbelt MUST be fastened once again.
Soon after take-off we were greeted by friendly flight attendants, they asked if we cared for a drink, soda, juice, wine, water, coffee or tea. After pouring our beverages they gave the passengers the remainder of the drink along with our lunch.
The food was excellent, the lunch consisted of a rice medley, grilled chicken, salad with the choice of two different style salad dressings, and a whole wheat dinner roll with butter. After our meal was finished, the flight attendants quickly collected our garbage and once again we were asked if we cared for a refill on our drinks.
Fifteen minutes later we were asked if we cared for coffee or tea. Five minutes later we were approached with a tray of warm oven-baked chocolate chip cookies, two per passenger. The cookies, by the way, were absolutely amazing, I could not have made them better myself.
Upon finishing our desert, our trash was collected and for the last time we were asked if we cared for another drink.
The remainder of the flight continued on smoothly without any known turbulence. Before I knew it, we arrived in Wisconsin. The landing was just as great as take-off.
Personally, I never flown first class before, but I can confidently say Midwest Express is first class without high prices.
