Duomo Far So Last Suppah!
Advantages: Surprises! Disadvantages: Guns!
...over to the much shorter Milan line. I hadn't organised that end bit, but I did take the credit when the combined excitement of a reduced waiting time with a weekend in Italy caused one of us to woop and do a funny little jig. I had organised the weekend though. Flights to Milan are available from all over the U.K. and Milan itself has three main airports to choose from. Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate are the closest, most convenient airports with ... ...UK visitors to Milan forfeit the ease of the transfer for an ease on their wallet and opt for the third way. The Ryanair served Milan Orio al Serio way. The airport is also known as Bergamo and the airport code remains as BGY, because it's in Bergamo, 40 miles outside Milan. Not Milan then. We were flying from London Luton Airport, which is in Bedfordshire, a full 3 counties away from London, but only 11 miles from our home, so handy for us at least. ...

very expensive and not... ;-)
Advantages: all the best fashion Disadvantages: traffic, not very clean
Shopping in Milan can be very funny if you have a lot of money, because for me it's a expensive city...but only walking in Via della Spiga, Via Sant'Andrea, Via Montenapoleone, Via Manzoni, Via Verri it's a pleasure for your eyes.In via Manzoni you can find Armani's mega store with the Noubu restaurant. I liked very much, after a saturday shooping afternoon, go at Noubu's Bar for an aperitvo with my friends. It's so relaxing. Very nice is takeing ... ...this is the high class shopping zone of Milan, where you can find: Missoni, Prada, Hermes, La Perla, Versace, Gucci, Etro, Armani, Miu Miu, Iceberg, Burrbery, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tod's, Hogan, Kenzo, Brioni, Fratelli Rossetti, La Murrina...and more...and more...and more...BUT VERY IMPORTANT at the end of Via Montenapoleone, close at Via Manzoni, you can find an high class outlet. The prices are very good.
But Milan has not only expensive shops. ...

Milan a Great Place to Visit
Advantages: so much to do and see Disadvantages: not eneough time
...from visiting my brother in Milan ,it was my forst trip over there and I really did enjoy it. What a lovely city. It is Italy's Cultural ,Industrial and Financial Centre. The capital of the north of Italy [Lombardia}. Also is one of the main fashion centres in the world and you can see why when you walk down the main shopping areas and see all the Designer Shops. I visited the Catherdral-The Duomo which has more than 2,000 sculptures ,numberless spires ... ...The best time to visit Milan is in Spring, early summer or in the autumn.
There are various markets which are held in Milan which can be very interesting to go round, selling local food products and clothing.
Also many types of Restaurants- it is best to try the restaurants away from the main areas where the tourists go it is advised to go where the locals go to because you know it will be good and also good value.
They have a tourist bus which ...

Well worth the visit
Advantages: Very charming for a city Disadvantages: none that I experienced
I went to Milano for Christmas 2006 and I had a wonderful time. So much history. We of course went with relatives and were lucky enough to have own tour guide, my in laws. Wow was I impressed at all the fabulous coffee shops on every corner. We visited a castle and walked around to view all the historic buildings. It really is the best place I have visited. The shopping well, you will go broke quick but you will have the best time of your life while ... ...So much to see I plan on returning this year again. The most impressive part was when I went to the huge Cathedral. It looked like a Cinderella castle. The inside was covered in beautiful marble floors, of course the history was very interesting. That is a must see if you visit. The transportation was easy and convenient to get around. I really enjoyed walking all over this city and of course eating. The places we eat were all very good and charming. ...

Milan in the spring
Advantages: Great shopping Disadvantages: Smog
...from Birmingham with Flybe to Milan Bergamo Airport was a new experience for me but the journey to Birmingham Airport is just over an hour from home and the parking is so close to the airport that you don't really need to get the courtesy bus.
On arrival at Bergamo there is a Bus to main Centro train station just o/s arrivals for just a few euros with a journey time of around 40 mins.
The hotel we chose - the Concorde was out of the City Centre ... ...of transport to another.
Milan is fantastic for shopping - shoes of course and a gorgeous Coccinelle handbag retailing in the UK for £130 for £67. For Designers go to Via Montenapoleon and Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle is a beautiful building with some interesting (and some not so) shops. La Rinascente also has some bargains and household items such as crockery, utensils in every available colour
The 14th Century Cathedral Duomo is gorgeous and ...
