Advantages: Great location
Disadvantages: poor service and food in the restaurant

My partner and i went to milan to watch AC Milan for his xmas present. I booked to stop at the ibis. we stayed for 4 nights and i have to admit it was worth every penny. I think we paid about £40 per night, the hotel was clean and the bar was nice. it was in a excellent location to get around milan. the hotel was walking distance from the train station. The down side to this was the restaurant in the hotel, i was quite expensive and very poor quality. ...

A budget base for exploring Milan

Advantages: cheaper than many in the area, clean, comfortable, easy access to sights
Disadvantages: bathroom not great, no restaurant

Warning - in red light district!!!

Advantages: good breakfast, handy location
Disadvantages: red light district, hotel split into 2 buildings

...a triple room. Hotel Berna fitted our requirements but it wasn't anything special. We arrived late to the hotel due to flight delays and were a bit worried about the neighbourhood while driving through it. The following afternoon our fears were confirmed when we discovered it was in the red light district of Milan (during daylight hours too!!). Exceeded my expectations

Advantages: Clean and cheap-ish, close to main train station
Disadvantages: Not a great place for socialising
