Exceeded my expectations
Review of Verona Hotel, Milan by
avacarrdo
Advantages: Clean and cheap-ish, close to main train station
Disadvantages: Not a great place for socialising
...OVERVIEW:
The hotel Verona is a one-star hotel located on a back street near to Milan's central train station. It has nineteen rooms, consisting of twelve single rooms, five double rooms and a triple. There are communal bathrooms, although it seems that most, if not all rooms have an ensuite. Rooms have heating and airconditioning, a small ante-room where breakfast is served, and reception is open 24 hours a day.
LOCATION AND CHECKING IN:
The ... ...five minute amble from Milano Centrale (The main station). The main tourist attractions, such as the Cathedral are three or four stops on the metro, which is located underneath the central station. There didn't seem to be many touristy things around the hotel; mostly small cafes, neighbourhood shops and other hotels. Then again, we didn't really have time to explore the neighbourhood on foot. The area seemed safe to walk around in at night, although ...

No way !
Review of Sabatino Hotel, Milan by
Juliets
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Awful staff, Dirty, pervert
We had a very bad time in this hotel. The staff was really terrible, one of the them loooked at us in a strange way everytime we'd pass over the counter (we were four young women), and I saw him actually looking at my friend's breast, in a very pervert way. The night staff was quite bad as well, first the guy didnt speak english, and wouldnt care if he couldnt find our key (you know that s not his problem, no wait, thats worse THAT S HIS JOB), and ... ...friendly and all but when we told him about the problems we were facing in the hotel he just laughed at our faces ! And then said : Well, girls that's life, I was one in Paris (we're French), and it was awful ! Is that a reason to make us pay for it ????
The services were really bad as well ! As opposed to was was written on the website, they didnt have free internet access, for the internet just worked one evening (for a week of stay that s little), ...

Warning - in red light district!!!
Review of Berna Hotel, Milan by
spice81
Advantages: good breakfast, handy location
Disadvantages: red light district, hotel split into 2 buildings
...a triple room. Hotel Berna fitted our requirements but it wasn't anything special.
We arrived late to the hotel due to flight delays and were a bit worried about the neighbourhood while driving through it. The following afternoon our fears were confirmed when we discovered it was in the red light district of Milan (during daylight hours too!!). I definitely wouldn't recommend the area for families with young children, or single travellers who might ... ...2 other girls, i felt safe enough, but we didn't venture out at night on our own.
The hotel is split into 2 buildings and unfortunately we were in the building over the road from reception which meant we had to walk over for breakfast. The breakfast room was small, but just about big enough and the food good.
Despite being in a less "nice" area, the location was handy in terms of walking distance from the central shopping area, cathedral etc- think ...

The Hotel in the Middle of Nowhere
Review of Ramada Malpensa, Milan by
Katieshaz
Advantages: I wasn't paying, my room was clean, good breakfasts.
Disadvantages: Lack of facilities, poor customer service.
This is yet another hotel I stayed in when flying as cabin crew. I was on a trip here for 4 days, flying from Milan Malpensa Airport staying at this 4 star hotel.
Location: About a 15 minutes drive from the airport, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus services with irregular timings. This is the place to stay if you have to go to the airport, definitely not the place to stay if you want to explore the city of Milan! This hotel is in the middle ... ...scenery yes, but not much to do! First impressions:
