Our 10 day , 9 night stay was from the 30th of August until the 8th of September, arriving in the early hour of Saturday morning back in the UK.

We flew from Manchester Airport Terminal 3 with British Airways economy class to New York JFK airport Terminal 7.The flight was just under seven and a half hours and included a hot inflight meal and also headphones to watch inflight movies of which were available.

The total cost of which included insurance, flight taxes and fees , airport parking and the price for the super shuttle mini bus to take us from Jfk airport to the hotel and then the return journey back was at a cost of £2,824.27 of which was booked online through Expedia.

This was for myself and my husband staying in a Junior Suite on the 25th floor {room 2511}, this did not include breakfast.

The hotel has a gym, restaurant and conference rooms and also a swimming pool, we however only made use of the Church and Dey restaurant in the hotel only once, a few times we had room service.

We did not make use of the hotels gym, conference rooms or swimming pool. This hotel does not have any facilities for children, so would not really recommend for families, it is more of an adults hotel.

The hotel has 55 floors, not sure of how many rooms the hotel has,as they seem to change on different reviews of which i have read, but including suites i'd guess at around 670.

The hotels entrance is situated at the side, while work is going on at the ground zero site of which is straight across the road {2 lanes of traffic} and starts around 7am every morning, so keep this in mind if staying there. We did not notice the noise too much in hotel {good double glazing i guess}.

There is always someone on the door to open it for you, the staff at the checking in desk are friendly and check in only taken around 5 minutes, there is also a concierge desk and the bar called Liquid Assets {we did not use this}.

The way to get in to your hotel room is by using the new style keycard system. Our suite had two seater settee {not pull out bed settee type} a high backed chair a coffee table,tv,desk with keyboard and there was a mini bar stacked with items, these have sensors on them,so do not remove as they electronically bill to your room.

The bathroom had a single sink with low wide wc and the bath was low,but deep with a shower over it. There were loads of towels for our stay,of which the used ones were replaced daily. The toiletries were Crabtree & Evelyn, these were also replaced daily. There was also a hairdryer and a shaving mirror and socket.

The bedroom part had a large 42'' Plasma tv and the bed, although the americans class as king size,in the Uk is the equivelant to our Super King Size with six pillows. The bed was really comfortable. The bed was also made daily.

There was also air conditioning and heating in the room and a large wardrobe closet area with a mini safe and ironing board and iron inside and also a Millenium Hilton umbrella.

There were three large glass windows to our suite, looking out at various streets.

The best way to get around is by metro of which there is a station just up at the side of the hotel on Fulton Street, we purchased tickets for 7days of which cost $24 each from vending machines at the station of which are easy to use.
We found out that the trains were quick and only take around 15-20 minutes to get to Times Square and the other attractions such as the Empire State Building. We found the Longest journey to the Bronx Zoo to take around 45 minutes.

As the restaurant could work out expensive at the hotel, we found the Stage Door Deli just across from us at the other side of the church offered good quick breakfasts very cheaply {under $15 for two}.

For people who like shopping Century 21 {a bit like TK Maxx in the UK} is brilliant and cheap for designer items and gifts. Please remember that everything has sales tax added on to it when you get to the till of which is around 8.375 % except for clothing and shoes under the amount of $110.

Also tipping in restaurants is around 15-20 % of your bill. We did not use yellow cabs at all.

The hotel is situated within walking distance of Wall Street and also Brooklyn Bridge.

There are plenty of food places around, but fast food and also lots of hot dog carts.

We only did see a couple of people on the streets begging, not as many as what we thought we would see.

We would definitely use the hotel when returning in the future when the new Freedom Tower has been built and would definitely recommend to stay hopefully next time we would use the gym and swimming pool.

If however you can not be too bothered with the metro so much, then there are lots of hotels near Times Square and around Broadway and Lexintgon Avenue Districts.
