On the plus side -
If you want a hotel close to a tube station, this is perfect. Gloucester Rd was right opposite, 100yds. It was also close to South Kensington which was one stop away on the tube and very nice for shopping.
The double glazing in the room was great, so there was no noise from the street. Unfortunately my window wouldn't open, it was broken. I didn't report this so just had to live with it.
I booked two single rooms for myself and a colleague, we both got double rooms, which were spacious. The bed was comfortable, linen clean, water hot and the bathroom was clean.
The television in the room was very good, lots of channels, new and in working order.
I got an extremely reasonable tariff, £107 for Dinner, bed and breakfast for one night. This was booked through lastminute.com on their Top Secret Hotel deal.
The food in Olives restaurant was excellent, i would recommend it for quality and value. I had crab for starter and then steak. The female Maitre D was also helpful, pleasant and had a sense of humour. Unfortuantely our waiter wasn't so good, i got cold coffee, and my heavily pregnant colleague got given a glass of wine i ordered, having had to come back twice to check what i wanted. He was either very new or very rubbish!
Not so good -
The room decor was average. There was paper coming away from the walls, the bathroom appeared dated, and the pictures would not be my choice! However, it was clean and reasonable, if dated.
On arrival i asked if i needed to book a table for dinner. I was told it wasn't necessary. When my colleague and i left to go shopping an hour later, we were told the only time we could eat was 6pm or 8.30pm. I was annoyed at being misinformed, there was a large booking of 40 so they couldn't accommodate us at any other time. I'm diabetic, so i need to know when i'm eating. Minor annoyance, but staff giving correct and accurate information when asked is important to me.
Despite the double glazing keeping the noise down outside, noise inside was a problem. I was woken at 11.30pm by children running down the corridor and a family going to their room. I was then woken at 5.30am by the person in the room above running a bath - it was noisy.
Perhaps the most worrying feature was my colleague finding a mouse in her room the morning we left. She was extremely polite about it, so they refunded her a £5 phone call. I perhaps would have demanded a little more. It really put us both off our breakfast, and really wasn't a good start to her day!
I paid the balance on leaving and was given an invoice. 2 days later an invoice with an additional £25 listed turned up on my doorstep. No explanation, no accompanying letter. I am concerned that additional expenditure has been authorised on my account without my agreement. I have contacted the hotel and was put through to the payments section, who have not replied to my messages. I plan to write a letter of complaint, as if this additional expense, which i do not know what it is for, appears on my credit card statement, i will be very angry.
In summary;
I would not stay here again. This looks like a luxurious hotel, but looks can be deceiving. I would give it a 3* rather than 4* Many of the staff were friendly and helpful, which should be noted. Several things particularly concerned me, in particular the mouse and an invoice which has no explanation. Only stay here if you want nice food and a nearby tube station!

Quick review of Millennium Bailey's Hotel, London
I have stayed at this Hotel twice now..and would not consider staying anywhere else when I travel to London! Absolute luxury on each occasion - the first time I booked via lastminute.com..2nd time directly with hotel which turned out a cheaper option as they have weekend offers with fabulous breakfast!! We stayed for a few nights and had a great time-the hotel staff were so friendly and a birthday gift was waiting for my daughter in our room!!! The beds are really comfy-location perfect with a tube right outside(no noise)..know not all rooms are alike in hotels..but both times we have had excellent large rooms.Luggage can be stored once you have checked out -a great hotel..a real treat! ...

Advantages: Good Locations, Stylish Hotels Disadvantages: Small room size
I have stayed at the Millenium Baileys Hotel in Kensington, London a few times, courtesey of offers on www.lastminute.com The hotel is 4*** and in a prime location in Kensington, directly opposite Gloucester Road tube station. The outside and entrance to the hotel are very grand, maintaining many original features, but including the luxury of up to date facilities.
The hotel also offers the following facilities:- Parking at extra cost Night porter ... ...rooms Conference facilities Extra touches such as free newspapers and fresh fruit for guests also make the hotel more appealing and homely.
Although I did not eat at the restaurant, it has a good reputation, offering a choice of cuisine, ranging from Chinese and Indian to Italian. It was a little pricey for the budget traveller, so I opted to eat at one of the many local restaurants in Kensington.
Unfortunately once inside the room, I could have ...
