I have stayed at the Millenium Baileys Hotel in Kensington, London a few times, courtesey of offers on www.lastminute.com

The hotel is 4*** and in a prime location in Kensington, directly opposite Gloucester Road tube station.

The outside and entrance to the hotel are very grand, maintaining many original features, but including the luxury of up to date facilities.

The hotel also offers the following facilities:-

Parking at extra cost
Night porter
Air-conditioning
Babysitting
Safety deposit box
Non-smoking rooms
Conference facilities

Extra touches such as free newspapers and fresh fruit for guests also make the hotel more appealing and homely.

Although I did not eat at the restaurant, it has a good reputation, offering a choice of cuisine, ranging from Chinese and Indian to Italian. It was a little pricey for the budget traveller, so I opted to eat at one of the many local restaurants in Kensington.

Unfortunately once inside the room, I could have been in any hotel in London. The room was immaculate and stylish, but felt extremely poky. Luckily the sheer luxury of the bathroom (which was almost as large as the double bedroom itself), redeemed everything.

The hotel, although away from Oxford Street is handy to get to many local attractions in and around Kensington, such as, Hyde Park, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and Gardens, Olympia Exhibition Centre, the Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum and of course nearby shopping in Harrods and Harvey Nichols!

The tube station opposite the hotel (don't worry - no noise can be heard from inside the rooms) provides easy access to all other sights.

All major credit cards accepted by the hotels.

I would recommend staying in any of the Millenium hotels, if they are as good as this one. Although I would have to try to find a discount to be able to afford the rooms and meals.
