I have never been to it and have never even seen it for real, but this monstrosity and waste of money was closed at the end of last year!
I have read opinions about it and seen clips of the inside on TV, and I still had no desire to visit it.
It is surrounded by controversy, and we all complain about money being used on it but why waste it?
In the light of the Olympic games and the great achievements by British athletes, why not give the dome to the Athletic Association?
Apparently, it is big enough to house a few football pitches, so there would be plenty of room to build an indoor athletics training arena and all under one roof!
In fact, the dome quite looks like a sports stadium!
They could call it 'The Millennium Athletics Training Arena' and budding athletes would have top class training facilities like an Olympic sized pool, diving area, running track, gymnastics area, cycling track and even somewhere to house rowing boats seeing as the river is right next door!
Lottery money could be ploughed into it to pay for the interior and upkeep, as well as for first class trainers.
Athletes would want to come from all over to train here but any non UK athletes would have to pay.
You could still get the public to come and visit and watch training going on for a small fee. I know I would visit it if I could see that.
This could be just what this country needs for our sportsmen and women and will stop us all moaning about it because it would be used for something useful!
