Millennium Hotel and Resort, Stuttgart

Disadvantages: More of a business Hotel than for lesuire

...I decided to treat my mum and me to a short break to Abu Dhabi last year and choose the Millennium Hotel to stay in. We managed to find a taxi easily enough at Abu Dhabi airport and after a short drive (30mins) we arrived at the hotel. On first impressions I was a little disappointed. I had all these grand images in my head, but in reality the hotel seemed pretty standard. The room itself was quite basic (considering the price we paid), but it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel does have a nice swimming pool (although a little on the small side) and area for catching some sun. Getting around Abu Dhabi was fairly easy, taxi's are always available and very cheap. Advantages: nice city, nice surroundings
Disadvantages: the dialect of the people, but if you don't know German anyway, why bother

...;re not in Southern Europe here, but quite tasty, more red than white wines are produced. Bus 62 will take us to Obertürkheim, tube S1 back to Stuttgart, so you don’t have to be afraid of your blood alcohol. The wines aren’t well known outside the region the reason being that the Swabians drink nearly all themselves. You can take some bottles with you as souvenirs or have them sent to your home address. or just drink and take the memory with you. ...The resort is a brilliant idea but is let down by its poor food and the price of "extras" -- reminiscent of the "cruet-extra" mentality once associated with Blackpool landladies. The list of extras includes 3 euros to have breakfast in your room, 4 euros per day for use of the safe and 18 euros to use the jacuzzi. One evening we got a pot of tea for two from the bar. We got one and a half cups each and it cost 5.20 euros. The evening meal was 8.50 euros the first week and 9.50 the second week. A small bottle of water with it was an extra 1.50 [40 cents from the supermarket]. The Greek theme-night with dancers was an extra 10 euros each on top of the meal. They didn't charge us for it the second week as we could hardly escape it. The area immediately outside our room was by the pool and bar area. Music was playing from morning... Read review
