...I decided to treat my mum and me to a short break to Abu Dhabi last year and choose the MillenniumHotel to stay in. We managed to find a taxi easily enough at Abu Dhabi airport and after a short drive (30mins) we arrived at the hotel. On first impressions I was a little disappointed. I had all these grand images in my head, but in reality the hotel seemed pretty standard.
The room itself was quite basic (considering the price we paid), but it was clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The hotel does have a nice swimming pool (although a little on the small side) and area for catching some sun.
Getting around Abu Dhabi was fairly easy, taxi's are always available and very cheap.
One trip I would recommend is the desert safari and evening barbecue. Driving up and down the sand dunes in the deserts was thrilling, I was...

Advantages: Very comfortable hotel, well located for visiting some great places Disadvantages: Access to the Club Lounge denied. Otherwise, faultless, although check-in staff could have been friendlier
...A friend of mine was once extremely confused when an American tourist asked her for directions to a town in England called, apparently, “Loogerberooga”. She was just about to admit defeat and affirm that she was sure that no such place existed, when she suddenly had a flash of inspiration and realised that the town in question was actually “Loughborough”. I was delighted to note that their lifts (or elevators) were manufactured by “Otis” – hence, part of the somewhat feeble title for this review! It was the best I could come up with!
Looking back over my previous hotel reviews, I’m very aware that I have stayed in some...

Advantages: Modern, clean, safe and friendly Disadvantages: Access and parking facilities.
...This is actually more of an opinion about Reading's ground than about Reading FC.
I took my son to see England Under 20 v Germany U20 the other night at the Madejski Stadium, Reading.
We left home, by car in good time to get to Reading, or so we thought.
The last mile took 40 minutes. The junction of the M4 and the A33 (junction 11) was a major bottleneck.
There is limited parking at the stadium for 2,000 cars, where we could have left the car for £1, which I thought was pretty reasonable. However I have since been reliably informed that the normal charge on Reading and London Irish days is £5.
There is also parking available at the nearby Greyhound stadium and in an office complex a few hundred yards away.
By the time we got there we had to make do with parking on the pavement of the A33 and walking about half a mile...
