Been living in Milton Keynes since January, and had to move here because of a new job. Its a unique place, in that it is a city set out like a grid. This means its easy to navigate, and all the main roads are either H or V numbered (horizontal or vertical) Rented a property initially, which was reasonable at £425 a month, in a nice area called Loughton. But once we started to look for property, as 1st time buyers, it was soon discovered you get a pokey pad for you 75 grand. Most houses for sale are relatively new, and pricy too. There are many dodgy areas, where you would not choose to live unless forced too, those near the centre in particular. The centre has a huge indoor shopping complex, and its extension is close to completion. Also the city centre has many bars and restaurants, and 2 multiplex cinemas, and of course the new Ski Dome. Good for business and jobs, many companies are based in MK, and unemployment is very low, so I understand. So its got some good and some bad points, but I could not justify buying a house here, so ended up buying one 20 miles north, in Northampton, which i shall review, after i've lived there!
