...The Edison Hotel, New York City: Built in 1931 This glorious hotel is located at 228 West 47th Street. Here I will write up a short review upon my experience in the hotel last year. Location: as previously mentioned situated in one of the most dynamic sections of New York City 228 West 47th Street, Directly in the middle of New York which means little walking distance to wherever you may want to venture. Rooms: Depending on what type of accomodation you are looking for, the Edison will be sure offer it to you. Personally our room was slightly better than standard due to us being on a work trip. Advantages: Cheap and right on Times Square
Disadvantages: A bit on the shabby side

...Hotel Carter is often referred to as a hostel but I wouldn't go that far. Although it's not exactly New York luxury the room was en-suite and was clean and a good size, if a little dated (the carpet on the wall is somewhat different!). The Hotel didn't have a restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. If you are just after a cheap weekend in the Big Apple you can't get a much more central location than this Hotel which is just off Times Square and for the money compared to other NY hotels I think it is great value. Especially since you'll probably spend very little time in hotel room with the rest of New York to explore!... Read review

...Every "Sex and the City" fan understands the significance of this great city to the controversial and much loved TV series. Would "Sex and the City" be what it was if the city was not NYC? I don't think so. Therefore, when on a short visit to NYC in October 2007, I couldn't resist taking part in the Sex and the City tour. I bought my tickets through Zerve ticketing at www.screentours.com and paid just $37 per person- a great price for what you get to see and experience. The tours are all guided by SATC experts who are New Yorkers and we had the great pleasure of having Emily as our tour guide; Emily had starred as an extra in the new "Sex and the City" movie the previous week!
