When i first went to Kardamena, Kos It was very quiet, well as quiet as it was going to be with a few hundred brits on the island anyway!
That was in 2002 and i have been there every year since with the exception of this year ,The atmosphere is warm and friendly and in several places people have recognised me and my partner every time we have been back and that is just fantastic, and i have to say that if that isn't customer care then what is, if after meeting you once they remember you and greet you with open arms every year.
If you go you must go to 'TASTEY CORNER' they are open 23 hours a day they close from 6-7 to clean but they offer a wide range of foods for every palet, this place is usually saved for after a few drinks, however for fun and a friendly atmosphere there is the 'TWO JOHNNIE'S' bar on my first trip me and my friend fell out and she went home, i actually met my partner there and his holiday was over so, I was all alone and a little strapped for cash ; the owner of this bar 'Yhanni' gave me free drinks all night on my last night.
Every year we have been back since we have been regulars in the 'STONE ROSES' bar in the center and the '1960's' bar parallel to it mainly because you end up with free drinks all night as the staff fight over which bar you should come in and they offer you free drinks to sit one side or the other, If you find yourself wanting a restaurant the 'AMAZON' is truley lovely but any resaurant you choose will be superb the Greek definitley take pride in there cooking and pleasing there customers, everywhere you go is family friendly so i suggest that if Kid's arn't your thing then you give Greece a miss!
Value for money used to be great but the Euro has slowly crept up and it is a little less so now but on the whole it is a hell of a lot cheaper than holidaying in england and the weather is always garanteed.
