I was SO pleased to see this hotel on here as it gives me a great opportunity to vent my spleen!!!!
I had the privilege to stay in this establishment for four nights at New Year.
I had booked last minute for a coach tour to Disneyland Paris with Leger Holidays and there were no rooms available in the Disney hotels we were in a 'Paris Outskirts' hotel. Two years earlier we had been in the same position and were in a lovely Mercure hotel that was excellent. We had also had four holidays with them staying the the Disney hotels.
When booking a 'Paris Outskirts' hotel you don't know until you get there which hotel you'll be in but they are usually of a good standard.
USUALLY !!
Our party consisted af my husband and I, my teenage daughter, ten year old son, married daughter and her 10 month old baby.
Our journey was longer than normal as the driver got lost and it was
9.00 pm when we arrived at the hotel, after being on the road since 3.00 am - everyone was tired, crabby and hungry.
The coach pulled up at the hotel, but we couldn't actually see it all we could see was a closed supermarket and a filling station.
The driver got out and came back a few minutes later to say he couldn't get the coach in so he was unloading our luggage for us to take in.
So we pulled and carried our belongings up a steep hill to the hotel, joking we said 'Hope there's a lift' - you've guessed - there wasn't !!!!!
We all decided to leave our luggage downstairs while we got something to eat - but much to our shock, the restaurant was closed. Much moaning and groaning went on, we went to the bar - the people in front of us got the last bag of nuts!! A much needed drink was required - they'd out of beer!!!!!
By now we were VERY tired, hungry and downright angry. We took our luggage to our rooms.
AGHHHHHHHHH!! IT GOT WORSE !!
We had two adjoining rooms - my two daughters were in one room with the baby, my husband and I in the other with our son.
IST ROOM
My daughters's room - we had requestd a cot for the baby - we got one - but no bedding!!! The bedding on the beds was stained and my daughters had to sleep on top of of the bed fully clothed. There were no wardrobes or drawers - just a little rail in an alcove big enough to hang a few clothes ( with no hangers) The bathroom was dirty and mouldy!!
2ND ROOM
Ours and my son's.
This was shabby and small, one double bed and a camp bed pushed into the alcove ( which was the only place were we could have hung our clothes!!)
There were squashed flies on the wall, the bedding was old and stained and the bathroom again was mouldy and dirty.
Thinking we had drawn a short straw we went down to reception - were the whole coach party were already - complaining about similiar rooms.
The driver was then bombarded wth complaints - he told us to have our cases ready the next day when we went to Disney Land and that he would find us alternative accomodation for when we came out of the park.
After walking across a busy road we managed to get some drinks and snacks from the filling station and went back to the hotel for what we hoped was our last night!!
So the next day the luggage was again dragged to the coach - luxury he had managed to get into the gate !! We went of the the park and looked forward to our new hoel.
On getting back on the coach that nigt we were told that Paris was completely booked up (!!!!!) but the hotel had had a team of cleaners in so it would be fine.
So off we went back to the wonderful Green Hotel. I don't know what sort of cleaners they were but it was no better. We just had to put up with it - we were only sleeping there so we were determined fo it not to spoil the holiday. We had to spend our time there literally living out of a suitcase as there was no where for our clothes.
Legers got plenty of letters of complaint (ours included photos) but we got no come back or apology.
We have not booked a holiday with Legers again, our future holidays to Disneyland Paris were booked direct with Disneyland and Easy Jet !!
So please do beware - not all 'Paris Outskirt' hotels are good - do try and find where you are staying first. And certainly do NOT stay in the Green Hotel !!!!
Summary: Never, ever again would I go without knowing what hotel I was going to.
