Drink is fairly cheap, in fact I think there is a happy hour for those arriving early. I would say this is a great night out for a group of friends out on the town.

Minsky's is one of the few Cardiff Clubs that's encourages the party vibe, the DJ works on getting the audience dancing and singing along to cheesy songs such as YMCA and Abba and such like in between the extraordinary Drag Queen shows that Minky's has become famous for. The clientele always seems to be a very mixed bunch ranging from Office parties, Hen/Stag nights to a few freinds just out for a night on the town and the dress code is quite relaxed ... ...(but the DJ being a friend of mine had a quiet word with the doormen who then let me in with no questions).
The main attraction of Minsky's is the Drag Shows with the regular appearance of Marcia (my favourite) and Keri Dupree. The content of these shows can be quite risque at least so this club is not for the faint-hearted, and more often than not when I leave there I have such an aching face from all the laughing.
The drinks are reasonably priced ...

Advantages: Funky Disadvantages: Bit dismal inside
Although seen as a gay club Minskys is cool whatever you're sexuality.
My first experience was that of going there for a charity male strip night and it's one of the funkiest nights i've ever had.
Situated in the heart of Cardiff Minskys is easy to get to and from and is generally inexpensive to get in and when buying drinks.
Look out for special nights but most nights theres cabaret from acts such as Miss Kitty who gets the whole place jumping ...

Advantages: A superbly comfortable and friendly hotel Disadvantages: There must be some, but I certainly can't think of any
clear that this hotel ? and this floor in particular ? has a very regular clientele, and I was particularly struck by what was almost a family atmosphere. ?Where?s so-and-so????He?s not here, until Thursday???Oh, that?s your birthday?. What was even more remarkable was the fact that this was not an exclusive clique. We were soon chatting with new friends and swapping ?phone numbers. Five star hotel perhaps, but stuffy it certainly ain?t!
Our rate included dinner on the first of the two nights, so we soon headed off to the lift and rocketed down to the second floor. The hotel has two restaurants ? ?Cameron?s? (the upmarket restaurant), and ?Minsky?s New York Deli?, which is where we ate. You have a choice of ordering from the menu, or ? as we did ? enjoying a three course buffet.
