Advantages: Excellent Location Disadvantages: No major ones
...Mirador Des Concrete Works!
We decided to spend a long weekend in Minorca’s Capital, Mahon and found this hotel through Octopus Travel; we paid £454.00 for 4 night’s bed and breakfast for three adults in a triple room over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Location: 8½/10
The Hotel is situated in a nice quiet residential area about ten minutes walk from the centre of Mahon and only 5kms from the airport. It is set on a cliff above the port which can be reached down a long and steep road at the back of the hotel or by a large set of steps from the centre of the city.
Appearance: 8½/10
Quite modern and well kept, with a large terrace area at the side.
Parking: 0/10
None! Be warned if you hire a car as you will have to park some way from the hotel and the local police just love to ticket hire cars!
Lobby: 8/10

We had driven southwards from Girona, towards Palamos, then Calonge. At this point, the crumpled, supplied directions from the owner were tugged out, and we had pressed on. El Mirador, it seemed, was up there on the hill, at the very edge of Calonge. The road wound its way through a fairly modern development, a slightly confused melange of poorly signposted streets, each street lined with new, look-a-like villas, and each villa as attractively bland and featureless as the next. Finally, we passed an older house near the top, with a rocky front garden peopled...

Advantages: Massive room, good food Disadvantages: Snack bar and the freezing pool
.... The room was very clean and the maids came daily.
There are two restaurants in the hotel and a snack/pool bar. There is the El Mirador, which is inside the hotel complex and the Boulevard which is also open to the general public. Both breakfast and dinner are served in the El Mirador and Lunch and Dinner are served in the Boulevard. If you want to eat Dinner in the Boulevard then you have to book your table at reception as space for eating is limited, I would recommend the Boulevard for dinner as the food seemed to be fresher than in the main hotel restaurant and it is more suitable to adults only.
The food in the hotel was delicious, with lots of variety on offer, including lots of Chinese dishes, thanks to the Chinese chef. I wasn't very keen on Chinese food before, but he won me round. Don't worry though if you don't like Chinese food...
