...SanFelipe, In Puerto De La Cruz Tenerife in June 2007-relaxing stay . The north of Tenerife is great to get away from British Touristist and really enjoy tenerife, would reccomend a trip to mount teide, Loro Park or a trip on a catamaran to see the whales and dolphins. The hotel caters more for spanish tourists so is not great for children in regards to the entertainment however it is idea for a couple. The rooms are well decorated, and inclusive of a mini bar. There is a large pool area with plenty of sunbeds. The all inclusive food is to a good standard, from fast food to more exotic taste so there is something to please everyone. I would also reccomend to try the italian al la carte which is also all inclusive, the food here was gorgeous the only problems we had was trying to communicate with the staff in the restaurant. The drinks...

Advantages: Small compact site Disadvantages: A hard slog up to the entrance - take a taxi
...Monte Alban is one of the regular stop offs for those trecking around Mexico and the Mayan sites. Monte Alban is n't Mayan rather Zapotec (several hundred years older)
It's a couple of miles from the spanish colonial town of Oaxaca which is probably the best place to stay if you're visiting. Incidently, Oaxaca is worth a visit in it's own right as it has a lovely colonnaded zocola - it's also where the museum is. Admission about $15 Mexican in 1997.
Monte in on the top of a steep sided hill - so best getting a taxi- and is similar to Macchu Picchu in that it is a leveled of hill top.
It is small and probably wont take you more than an hour to wander around the ruins and visitors centre. The infamous "ball court" is worth a visit as is the central plaza. The views from the site particularly from the "platforms" are wonderful.
Unless you...

This is a great little city within Oaxaca, as it's home to some of the best culture, and some of the best hand crafts. We came here originally, because we wanted to see the famed San Vincente Church, however, we ended up staying a while and purchasing quite a few little arts and crafts while we were here. The prices are pretty amazing, considering how many items that we bought. For the $200 that we spent, we would have probably spent around $5000 for all this stuff in stores in the states. Of course, where better to get a good price than the source, I suppose. We bought mostly pottery while we were here as well as some great woodwork that we still have on display...
