The Modo spirit really comes to life after 6 o'clock, when it turns into the classiest cocktail bar in town. What I find particularly impressive is the offers they weekdays, 2 for 1 cocktails. This means £2.95 will get you two drinks. To make this deal even better they have an impressive drinks list, ranging from the rather sickly 'Raspberry Ripple' which consists of white chocolate liquor, cream and cassis, to the classic 'Long Cosmopolitan' ... more

During the day Modo is light and airy, with seating outside in Concert Square (if the weather allows it) However, since I have been in Liverpool I have seen the chairs out in Concert Square only once! They offer the usual drinks of cocktails, larger and wine, but in addition to this they sell paninnis and other smaller lunch time snacks. These are reasonably priced, depending on the filling around £3.99 for a paninnis.

Overall, I would rate Modo highly, for it offers great prices and more importantly a great atmosphere. With the cocktail promotions leaving with a smile is almost guaranteed!

Rocco-Modos or simply Modos as most people know it, is quite a trendy joint. They play quite funky music at times which is a nice change, but overall they have a wide range of music, of a good quality, that most people could appreciate. By that I mean that they play a nice range of styles, but seem to music that may some people may regard as being "cheesey". The decor is really cool as is the atmosphere which is created by the low lighting.
The drinks however, are a little expensive, but there are special offers on the cocktails (that are very, very good) on weekends, namely a two for one offer.
In the day they serve good food, with an impressive vegetarian selection (or at least there was plenty to my veggie tastes). The coffee is also good, but i wasnt very impressed with the deserts.
The location is excellent in concert ...

'Modo's' is a lively city centre bar , which has many endearing qualities. In the evening tables are lit by candlelight and there is a very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere. Get there early (before 10pm) to make the most of their '2 for 1' offer on their large range of delicious cocktails!! Modo also boasts a restaurant (The Briary) which I have on good authority serves very tasty food. A must this summer is also to try out their day-time BBQ. Cooked just outside the restaurant, this is a very popular place to be come Saturday lunch time, so come early to grab a seat out in concert square. Really tasty food, reasonably priced and also offers on many bottles at £1.50 each!! ...

. You will not find shorts this cheap elsewhere in the city centre. There are a good range of promotions on behind the bar including cocktail shooters and iced cocktails.
I think the One Four is a worthy place to pass through on a pub crawl for a few stiff ones. It is also a favourite meeting place before moving on - it is excellently situated for Concert Square, Modo or Slater Street. It will not be to everyone's taste - the clientele tends to be 'schoolies' and students - but give it a try. ...
