best in mombassa Advantages: right on the beach, clean and staff are very friendly Disadvantages: people selling safari trips are very persistant and gets annoying being pestered by them. Me and my girlfriend spent 2weeks in this resort from late december to to january. We found that the staff will bend over backwards to help you in any way or form. on new years eve they put a garden party on for us and the efforts that they had gone too were very impressive. One very good thing i noticed is there are no mosquitos, apparently farmers spray their crops with a chemical that keeps them away. Honeymooners holiday hotel Advantages: excellent hotel with the best facilities and staff Disadvantages: you need a guide if you venture off the premises! This is where myself and my husband stayed for our honeymoon. We had the most fantastic stay here, and certainly recommend the all inclusive option. The staff are excellent. The rooms and facilities are brilliant. The choice and availability of food and drink is superb. There are various excursions to organise through the hotel. There are lots of things offered such as massages, hairdressing, live entertainment, shops, internet etc. and the hotel ... ...anywhere better to stay. The rooms are plain, yet very clean, and many have great views. The only thing I didn't like, was seeing a great big spider outside! There are several pools, and areas to sunbathe. You can also carry out a diving course through the hotel. Taxi's are easily arranged, and the location of the hotel, is not far from the local shops/attractions - I paticually loved the nearby horse-riding. ... Kenyan Residents Review Advantages: Good beach nearby with relatively hassel free vendors. Pick up point for Fort Jesus Light and Sound Show Disadvantages: Dated interiors and 3* rooms could be improved Severin is a pleasant hotel that is mostly occupied by either Italians, germans or Isreali's but a few British Holiday makers stay. The facilities are clean and the staff are excellent. As with all Kenyans, once you get to know them, they are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, with showers and mosquito nets. The food could be better considering what you can pay and the wine selection is not great (lots of south african KMV - not the ... ...under the makuti roof bar. Severin in a local pick-up point for the EXCELLENT Fort Jesus Light and Sound show - if there are three things you have to do in Mombasa - this is one of them (the others are evening dhow trips and football night at Chameleon bar - just 10 mins walk down the beach - not recommended at night - get a taxi just in case - should only cost about 400 shillings). ...
