If you ever book a package holiday, check the airline isn't Monarch!
I flew down to the Caribbean with my wife and baby daughter, she was 18 months old at the time. We'd spent a lot on this holiday, booked the best hotel we could find in the brochure. So we were expecting a half decent flight.
After the customary 4-hour delay at Gatwick we boarded the plane for our 9 1/2 hour flight. To say this plane was cramped was an understatement. I'm not exactly tall but even I couldn't move when sat in these seats, even standing up to get out was difficult. Add to this that we had an 18-month-old sitting on our laps for 9 1/2 hours this was a nightmare journey.
The food was really bad, even by airline standards! The staff were non-too helpful either, it was a real ordeal for them to fetch anyone a drink.
It's a pitty you can't choose your airline when booking package holidays, it really does make a difference. These sort of things can really ruin a holiday.
