Advantages A wonderful place to visit for the whole of the family
Disadvantages The fact the primates needed to be rescued in the first place

A place that is close to the hearts of both my husband and myself is Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, which is set in 65 acres of sanctuary and situated in Wareham, Dorset. Despite living some 120 miles away we have travelled to this wonderful Centre on an annual basis for the past five years. The reason Monkey World is so special to us is that my husband was born and brought up in Swanage, which is just a short distance from Wareham and each visit to his home town provides him with some very special childhood memories. Advantages A great solotion to hosue the rescued monkeys, very educational
Disadvantages The fact somewhere like this needs to exist

During our recent trip to Dorset and following a trip to the Tank Museum at Bovington Camp we headed the 1-mile along the road to visit the Monkey World Ape rescue centre. We had previously visited it earlier this year but it was a nice day and it seemed like a nice way to spend the afternoon. Location Monkey World is located about a mile away from the army base at Bovington near to the small Dorset town of Wool. It is clearly signposted from all of the nearby towns and for the most part you are advised to follow signs for the Tank Museum. There is a large car park with room for a lot of cars ... more

We are lucky enough to live not too far away from monkey World in Wareham, Dorset. A couple of months before Christmas last year, we decided to take a visit, off season with some friends of ours. Obviously taking the children was the main reason for going, but I have visited on many occasions in the past and love going back to see the monkey's playing and interacting with each other.
