The Monkstone Inn is situated in Rumney,on the A48. It is hidden from the main road, behind it's own driveway, in pleasant surroundings. Has good carparking facilities, an outside seating area and a restaurant. The owners, Iain & Dot are very friendly and accomodating. The restaurant provides a nice setting for an evening meal. The pub itself consists of a pleasant very large lounge. Food is served both lunchtime and evenings at very reasonable prices, ... ...both the lounge and restaurant. I find that they have a decent choice of food for everyone. Sunday lunches are also served, and these are very popular, so booking is advisable. They are reasonably priced and good value. It is a family pub, especially Sunday lunchtime, and the locals are friendly. They have a good range of beers and lager. I decided to extend a day trip to london and stay overnight, just me and my 6 year old boy. This was very last minute booking 18.00 hours the night before the stay to be exact.
