A Modern Memoir of Marilyn Monroe

Advantages: Beautifully presented book, great content, extensively researched
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive for the casual fan

There are so many books available about Marilyn Monroe, that it is often a wonder why so many new ones get published. Biography after biography arrives, most of them rehashing the same old photos with the same kind of text. But occasionally, a new book on the film star comes along which has a refreshing perspective to offer. One such book is this ? Marilyn Monroe Private and Undisclosed by Michelle Morgan. Being a longtime fan herself and President of the British fan club ? the Marilyn Lives Society ? Michelle Morgan has the background knowledge of a devoted Marilyn fan, but has added a whole new level of research on the topic. In the quest to discover new aspects and details of Marilyn?s life, Morgan has contacted former boyfriends, co-stars and friends who knew the actress, many of whom have never shared their memories before ...

Review of Marilyn Monroe Private and Undisclosed - Michelle Morgan

Just another marilyn monroe book?

Advantages: The whole book, start to finish!
Disadvantages: There is none really unless you are a kennedy fan!!!

I remember being 13 and my uncle borrowing me a book on a lady named marilyn monroe! a name i had heard before but never really understood who she was. From the first page of that book i was a hooked fan everything about her was so intriguing and the pictures in the book where truely amazing, at the age of 13 when maybe i should of wanted to be like the spice girls like most other girls my age i was classing marilyn monroe as a beautiful woman who after reading about her life i deeply admired. So 11 years on and i have to say iam still a great fan of the biggest sex symbol in hollywood to this day, but her sex symbol image is not why iam a fan of hers its her background and the on going struggle of her life and quest to find happiness that makes me a fan. After reading many books on her life and death and the mystery that surronds ...

Review of The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe - Donald H. Wolfe

Marilyn Monroe...

Advantages: Plot, the clever use of characters, thought provoking.
Disadvantages: Hard to follow at times, very depressing.

... ok so I lured you here. Just an interesting fact you may not know. Arthur Miller was married to Marilyn Monroe on June 29, 1956 in White Plains Court. Also "The Misfits" was written by Miller for Monroe, and was her last completed film. Let me just admit now - "Death of a Salesman" is NOT the kind of book that I would read of my own choice. I studied it in an A Level English Literature class and now I'm glad I did. I doubt you'll find anything to compare with it unless you've read Sophocles' "Oedipus The King." The story, set in depression era Brooklyn, depicts the life of the Lomans, more specifically Willy Loman. He goes through life trying to make himself a success and never quite achieves the much sought after American Dream. The play was written in 1948, published in 1949 so the American 'lingo' is quite interesting to ...
