Monte Verde Apartments, Grand Canary

i stayed at these apartments in August 2004. They are situated up a bit of a hill (not up the hillside) They are quite close to the beach.
They are very basic apartments but they seemed to be clean. We only saw 2 cockroaches in our apartment during our 2 week stay. As we were situated on the ground floor near some trees I was surprised we didn't see more!
We had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was very spacious indeed. The 2 bedrooms ...

The bathroom was big too, with a bath and shower (over bath)
Our terrace led straight onto the pool area so if you had little ones who can't swim I would suggest leaving the patio doors shut when you were out of the room. however, we found it to be very convenient as we could get up and one of us would have a dip in the pool while the other waited for our daughter to get up, and take it in turns until she woke about 11am!

Also convenient for bathroom breaks while swimming!
There is no bar but there is a very small shop in reception selling essentials like bread and water, jam and things.
Fans, kettles, toaster (even sandwich toasters) could be hired.
There was a safe in the apartment that you could hire too.
Security was good as the gates were kept locked and you got a key to them with your apartment key.
These apartments are on about 3 floors but no lift.
Maid service was regular and bedding and towels changed frequently.
The pool cleaner was very friendly, didn't see much of the reception staff as we had no need to, luckily.
The pool was a good size for the apartments and plenty of sunbeds. As they are only small (about 20 rooms) there is no early morning rush for the sunbeds!
There is an area in the shade with a pool table and TV.
If you are loking for a good basic accomodation then these are fine.
