If you’re up for an irie time, visit Jamaica! We walked Waterfalls, swam with dolphins and had banana lessons! This holiday was a totally new experience, when booking our holiday we decided we wanted to go a bit further a field and after looking through piles of travel brochures decided on Montego Bay, Jamaica. We arrived after a 10 hr journey to find a 6 hr time difference so even though it felt like the middle of the night it was still sunny and the middle of the afternoon! We checked into our hotel The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, this process took so long, After this we were taken to our rooms that were nice.
The hotel was based on All Inclusive this meant we could eat and drink as much as we liked. The facilities for this were very good. The main buffet available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then there were 3 other restaurants where it was waiter service however prior reservations were required. A burger bar was open from 11am till 1am for snacks and drinks were available from the numerous bars 10am till 2am. This basically meant you could eat and drink round the clock.
The hotel also included water sports such as kayaks, pedalos, a glass bottom boat, snorkelling trips and scuba diving lessons. There was also daily entertainment throughout the day and evening.
Jamaica itself was an amazing experience. We visited downtown Montego Bay where everything is so hectic and colourful. They even have a pizza Hut, Burger King, Mc Donald’s and Woolworth’s the last thing I would expect to see!
We also took part in 2 organised day trips, the first being walking up Dunns Waterfalls then swimming with dolphins, this was an amazing day it was totally worth the money. Walking up the falls was such a good feeling. Then swimming with the dolphins was a once in a lifetime experience.
The other trip we did was rafting on the great river then visiting a banana plantation, you would not believe the amount of things they use banana’s for there is no waste what so ever.
This was one of the best holidays I have ever been on and I would recommend Jamaica to anyone seeking a tropical holiday with some culture. It was truly amazing.
