Advantages: Cheap, friendly and everything you need! Disadvantages: You will not want to leave.
...KoLanta is a little bit of heaven on the west coast of Thailand. A great alternative to Phi Phi or some of the more tourist filled islands in thailand. If you want paradise then this is the place.
I reccommend this hotel too. It's not the fanciest of Hotels compared to some along the beach but it had all we needed. 7 of us in total were on the holiday and we stayed for 3 nights. There were 5 adults varying in ages, 1 teenager and 1 child age 6. Plenty of places to eat nearby, one in particular just next door to the hotel - fabulous food. The food in the Andaman was good also. Very family friendly hotel, with a pool on site. You just have to remember that this isn't a Europena hotel with lots of activities on site. But then again, we didn't want that. I often find that they get in the way of enjoying a quiet day by the pool...

...Travelling with my partner in June 2006 we had taken the overnight train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, costing £20 between us, where we had transferred to a boat taking us to Ko Samui.
Upon arrival in Ko Samui, we took a taxi ride to the Rocky Resort situated between Lamai and Hua Thanon, which took thirty minutes.

We were asked if we would like to make any excursions whilst we were on Samui, that they could arrange for us, but we were exhausted and chose not to just then. Check-in was quick and whilst it was finalised (£95 for two nights, including breakfast) our luggage was taken to our rooms for us and we wandered up slowly with a staff member to our room, which was...

...Ko Phi Phi is the jewel in the crown of Thailand's premier holiday islands. For such a small dot on the map it has so many natural wonders that it would take a week to fully appreciate their worth. For most Ko Phi Phi is recognisable because it provided the location for the filming of 'The Beach' starring Leonardo Di Caprio but thankfully the island has a lot more going for it than this.
Ko Phi Phi is in fact made up of 2 islands, Phi Phi Don, the bigger of the 2 islands, and Phi Phi Leh which is uninhabited but is known for its nest collectors who sell on their expensive wares to soup makers all over South Korea and Japan. All the main resorts on Phi Phi Don are close to the village or a short boat ride away.
You can get to Ko Phi Phi from Phuket or Krabi on the mainland or from the other islands in the area like KoLanta by...

A few months back I decided to join a gym, to help me regain my figure after the birth of our daughter (ha flippin' ha). To my delight, as part of my membership I was entitled to 60 minutes worth of Sun Showers. After a few sessions in the gym I... more
