...the waters very hot, but the views are spectacular. There are 365 rivers. Each one unique and very beautiful. If you like hiking, then Dominica has the best treks. You have Morne Anglais, a huge mountain standing tall at 3,683 feet; Jaco Flats, where you are able to go into the lake for a swim. Roseau Roseau is the capital city. There you can visit the Roseau Museum, a botanical garden and a few markets. If you trek upto the aviary, you're able to the whole view of Roseau, and the blue ocean in the background. You can also enjoy festivals, carnival and village feasts. The best time to visit, is between January and June because this is the dry season. The currency is the eastern Caribbean Dollar. ...On November 3rd, 1978 Dominica gained its independence from Great Britain and became an independent republic within the Commonwealth. Dominica is also known as the Nature Island of the Caribbean and is situated between the French speaking islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique it is the largest and most mountainous of the all the Windward Islands. Some people tend to get Dominica mixed up with the Dominican Republic, which can really makes me angry, as they are completely different places. People fail to remember that one is in the Caribbean the other is in South America, which is a good distance away. The main airport on the island is Melville Hall, which, is in the north part of the island, is about 38 miles from Roseau the capital city. Advantages: Maybe The Best Beaches in the World

...for them to pick you up at a certain time (believe me they wont let you down) In fact a group of us were at a beach and when it started raining the taxi actually came back to get us. I really thought that was excellent service. Caribbean Beaches St Thomas Magens Bay. This is a most fantastic beach it is listed as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world; it is located at the end of a tree-shaded drive on the north shore. A taxi will cost about $6 per person and there is a $3 admission (Oct 2002) it is very popular so it does get busy! Morning Star is my personal favourite. It is quite a small beach, but doesn't seem to get to busy, its just east off havensight shopping area, next to the Frenchman's reef resort.
