Design hotel in Stockholm

Advantages: Design hotel, good breakfast, nice area
Disadvantages: Not in the very center of the city

I have been in the "Rex Hotel" for a long weekend in April 2008. The area The hotel is situated in a quiet street 10-15 minutes walking from the center. In this area there are a lot of supermarkets (including one Lidl), restaurants (Italians, Chineses) and a lot of take aways. There is also a 7eleven that closes around 11.00 pm. The hotel When you enter at the hotel you can see the reception, a sofa and a internet desk (free to use). Our room was in the first floor and it was nice. Not huge but with space enough to have a table, a chest of drawers and a sofa. The bathroom is quite impressive with black stone in a very design style. Review of Rex Hotel, Stockholm

A leisurely walk to the city (and topless Swedish blondes)

Advantages: Excellent location, good facilities, nice bar
Disadvantages: Could get a windowless room

INTRODUCTION Having lived there for a few years, Stockholm is always a favourite destination of mine and it still feels like a second home. Strange then, that up until this point I haven?t covered anything from there in my reviews. Here is where I put that shameful record straight. Review of First Hotel Amaranten, Stockholm

Central Stockholm Hostel

Advantages: Cheap, Centrally located, Free internet,
Disadvantages: underground

I stayed here in September for 3 nights and this is my opinions of this hostel. Location We arrived into Stockholm at around 2pm from a train from Oslo. The hostel is within easy walking distance of the main train station. Although it is only a five or tem minute walk from the train station the directions we recieved from hostelworld were not the most clear and we ended up going the long way round to get to the hostel. The hostel is located just off a busy shopping street and from the train station you need to go down a couple of levels of roads to get to the main street. However things are a bit more complex if arriving by ferry or air and it is avisable to simply get a taxi from either to the main train station or the hostel itself.
