Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Marrakech

Advantages: Service, location, service, location, and service
Disadvantages: Quite liked it the way it is

Dar Les Cigognes ticks lots of boxes: great location next to important sites like Saadian Tombs and Badi Palace; lot's of fine eating places nearby--the terrace at Kosybar is a nice place to enjoy a drink or a meal--though the eating is pretty good at the hotel too. There is a spa, a nice big roof terrace to enjoy the sun on, the room was spacious and well-appointed. All of this is trivial in the end compared to what makes this ...
...as cheap as we expected--restaurants are a tad pricey. We did look at some other riads, both before we came, and also while we were here, and in the end we think that Dar Les Cigognes offered the best price/quality equation of any of the places we looked at. ...

Hotel and Casino Movenpick, Tangier, Morocco

Advantages: Looks lovely and decor great
Disadvantages: poor food and service in restaurant

...Tangier: From the outside this hotel is quite modern and looks very imposing . It is on the outskirts of Tangier right down the beachfront it is about 10 minutes drive from the main town so it is not really handy for getting to the town for awalk, you would need a taxi. However the setting offers lovely views of the coast, harbour and out to sea.I would think that the way the hotel is built that there would ot be many rooms without a good view. ...
...and expensive hotel the entrance lobby is beautiful with a definite Moroccan feel - settings of cushions on the floor round a Morrocan tea pot set, heavy wooden decorated furniture long floaty curtains from the ceiling - all very atmospheric. Our room: Our room had a really nice view of the ocean with a balcony and had Moroccan furniture and crisp white sheets on a very comfortable huge bed and there were fantastic posh toiletries for the bathroom. ...

Good, solid choice, but not without its flaws

Advantages: Lovely spa and swimming pool, good beachside location
Disadvantages: Some things don't work, road between hotel and beach

This was a good, solid choice of hotel, although not without its drawbacks. The hotel is, on the whole, as lovely as the photographs on the hotel's official website would suggest, although the photographs don't show the cracked tiles, dirty and damp cushions on the balcony, lights on the balcony not working or other small flaws. These flaws are not in themselves enough to put me off recommending this hotel as the rooms are generally well equipped ...

The hotel is located right on the beach, although needless to say the hotel photographs don't make a particularly big deal about the main road running between the hotel and the beach. Review of Sofitel Thalassa Mogador, Essaouira

Excellent holiday.

Advantages: Good choice of food, friendly staff, close to beach. Beautiful gardens.
Disadvantages: Sellers on premises could be a nuisance.

We visited this hotel in February, 2006 and found it very pleasant. The staff were helpful, the room was large, beds comfy and everything was clean. There was a good choice of food, somewhat restricted for vegetarians (as found in many places!) but much more choice than I found in Spanish hotels. The evening entertainment would suit a variety of tastes, comprising music, shows and dancing. The pool area was clean and staff helpful, bringing us mats ...
...a wide choice of restaurants in town. The beach was excellent, with opportunities for watersports. There was some hassle from sellers in town but they took no for an answer. I enjoyed practising my French, which came in useful on trips into the small towns. We would be happy to return here in the future. ...
