Advantages: Lot of branches. Competitive. Good vehicles Disadvantages: Not many
...I have rented hire cars from Practical on three seperate occasions. All rentals have been from their Sea Street,Herne Bay, Kent branch and I have been thoroughly satisfied with the service I received.
Practical have numerous branches in England and usually have a range of cars available for hire. I have rented a Skoda, a Nissan Micra and a Fiat Punto and found that all the cars were virtually new models,had a radio,AA membership and were extremely clean at the time of the handover.
Naturally rates vary according to the length of the hire, for a weekend the rate is proportionately considerably higher than a weekly rental and a monthly rental is cheaper still. On average,my last hire cost me about 20 pounds per day but that included insurance and there was no mileage limit imposed. You have to make a deposit in the event od damage...

Advantages: I know I will get a decent car Disadvantages: None
...Ive hired several times from my Budget branch in Newcastle city centre and always came away with a feeling of contentment.I always know that before I pick up my vehicle I will be driving a quality Ford, that is a new model and it will only be a couple of months old.
Ive hired several typres of car and on occasions Transit vans.All vehicles have been cleaner properly and are always ready at the time that I want the rental to start.Even the vans are spotless inside and out.
Normally the car groups you will get are
Group A is a Ford KA
Group B is a Ford Fiesta
Group C is a Ford Focus normally an 1800 Ghia
Group D is a Ford Mondeo
All vehicles Ive had have had PAS , elecric windows and air con as standard, which makes a refeshing change in the summer.
The rates themselves are reasonable priced, but tend to work out...

Advantages: Good prices, good vehicles, quick to rent Disadvantages: None that spring to mind
...- £59.85
* Group E - £77.90
* Group G - £96.90
* Group H - £140.00
* Group M - £96.90
These are all the prices I could get online, I think there must be some special offers on some cars, that would explain why there is such a difference between some of the prices, also the van prices are if you pay at the rental office, whereas with the cars you get a discount if you pay online and these are the prices listed. The prices for the vans are for 100 miles but the car prices seem to be unlimited mileage.
There are also weekly special offers as well as specials for multiple day hire and weekly hire obviously too much too list though. Hopefully this will give you a rough idea on price to compare with others.
Conditions Of Hire
Obviously you need a full driving licence, they will not hire to you if you have a drink driving conviction still...
