This is a love story that begins in 1870 as a young MrChipping (Robert Donat won an oscar for this) who is known by friends and pupils as "chips" starts a new job at a boarding school called Brookfield.
Chips is a kind, soft spoken, shy firm but fair teacher.
Chips is on the verge of quitting very soon after he first started at Brookfield. The pupils take total advantage of him, in the end the headmaster has to come in and calm the boys down.
All his pupils eventually respect him because he is patient and has a good sense of humor.
Chips is an excellent teacher, but he has something missing from his life. He is away on holiday with his friend and fellow teacher Max, chips meets a young woman called Katherine Ellis (Greer Garson), she is very beautiful and Chips falls in love with her.
Their friendship turns into romance ...
Advantages: Lots of honest reviews on interesting hotels Disadvantages: Hotels can be quite expensive to stay at
** Please note that this review is on volume 2, which is not the book in the picture**
Mr and Mrs Smith is essentially a travel guide, but not in the same way the AA is a travel guide. This book only looks at a handful of hotels and they must be 4 or 5 * or boutique hotels.
It is a very stylish book and can be picked up at most book shops for about £20 ? £25. You may think this is quite expensive, but an added benefit is that in every book you receive a Mr and Mrs Smith card. All you have to do is register the card on the website and it allows you to receive free gifts and discounts at the hotels they feature, both in the book and on their website www.mrandmrssmith.com.
The book starts with an introduction from the people at Mr and Mr Smith and explain that is has been going for nearly 5 years now. On the second page is where ...
Advantages: A really crisp potato chip Disadvantages: none
When I sit and watch television in the evening I like something to munch, the `something` all depends on my mood. There are times when I reach for the biscuit tin, other times when a bar of Cadbury`s will do the trick and times when I feel like something savoury.
There aren't many crisps and potato snacks that I don't like, but Kettle Chips have to be one of my favourite snacks. Maybe they remind me of my childhood, my Mum used to peel and slice some potatoes very thinly and then deep fry them, the result was much like a Kettle chip.
Kettle chips are produced at a factory in Norwich, interestingly enough by a firm called Kettle Foods!
I have always thought of them as an adult snack, let the children enjoy their Monster Munch and their Wotsits and let the adults enjoy the unique taste of the Kettle chips.
A pack of any flavour ...
