Ever Changing, Ever Beautiful

Advantages: Cheep
Disadvantages: None

Mrkonjic Grad is a fantastic town about an hour and a half's drive away from Banja Luka, I have visited it yearly since the war and it really is a nice place to visit. Do not be put off about the war that was some time ago now and things have changed significantly now. There is only one hotel and it is in the centre of town. There are more bars there per an inch, that drinking is not a problem in this town. There are lot's of good Cloths shops and ...
...nice natural lake alongside a manmade lake a couple of miles up the road in summer this place is a sun trap and a fantastic place to visit if only for it's stunning beauty. Mrkonjic Grad is a beautiful place to visit and well worth the visit

Its such a pity it has been depicted as such a dull place. There are lovely quaint hill side houses every where you go. Set in amongst rolling hills and lush forests. In the middle of what is a war torn country, I found it a pleasure spending the winter here. During the summer you have a medditerranean ...

Plenty to see; good value for money;
No budget flights yet (but also a good thing!) (*)
Beautiful, interesting, very little tourism, very cheap
Ethnic divisions, poverty, disturbing past (*)
Lots of culture and history, cheap, tasty food, kind people
Those slippy footpaths! (*)
Some stunning buildings
Hard to get to know locals, run down with few signs of regeneration (*)
Great people, great weather, great scenery, and not over commercialised
None really but it can be very, very hot. (*)
