Advantages: CHEAP CHEAP Disadvantages: Dodgy music
...Dobson's is situated just off John Dobson St. Just up the road from club Ikon. As far as the bar itself goes, it's nowt special, just a modern bar, trying to be all funky with lots of purples and shiny things. The way that Dobson's becomes amazing, is with its offers. The best one needing a Snapfax and an NUS card. With this you can get three trebles(Vodka, Gin, White Rum, Whisky), with the mixers for a fiver. That's 9 shots, and three splashes of mixer for 5 pounds! If a group of you go and get these you'll find yourselves sitting round a table with about 45 shots on it!!!! Great for students!...

Advantages: Good weather, good accomodation Disadvantages: The huts in the Mt. Cameroon could be better
...The Town
Buea is a town that is located at the foot of Mt. Cameroon in Central Africa.Once you get into the country through the Douala international Airport, it takes about an hour of driving to get to Buea.It is located in the Anglophone part of the country so the language spoken there would be English. The town is the capital of the South west Province which is one of the ten provinces in the Republic of Cameroon.Moving around the town is quite easy for you could easily get taxi cabs and the roads are all tarred.
If you are looking for some fun head down to Molyko, which is where the Buea University campus is located. The area is quite lively when students are on campus. In the evenings there are lots of places where you can get grilled fish with either fried plantains or fried potatoes. There are a lot of drinking places also around...

Advantages: Fabulous views ,lots of wildlife, rewarding Disadvantages: Hard work, primitive, fairly expensive
...Mt Kenya national park is less famous than the Masai Mara or Kilimanjaro but has everything the adventurous spirit could want.
The mountain itself is the main draw for most people but the park itself has plenty of wildlife and is much less crowded than the big game parks.
The climb up and back takes 5-6 days and is pretty strenuous. Most nights there are huts to stay in but camping is necessary on some routes. Listening at night in your tent to a herd of buffalo grazing a few metres away is an unforgettable experience !
It is more or less compulsory to take a guide and porter - you won't want to cook your own food or put up your tent anyway. Amateur climbers can reach Lenana point, just short of 5,000 metres....
