Helmhaus SwissQHotel is one of the hotels in Zurich offered by Expedia in their flight plus hotel deals, and this is how we discovered it. Whilst not the cheapest option, its central location meant we could save both time and money travelling to and from the city. What's more, breakfast is included in the price. Reviews on Tripadvisor were very favourable, and a look at the hotel's website further encouraged us to make it our choice. We did not regret this.
My son and his partner booked a double room for three nights, and I booked a single for one night only. I cannot comment on how easy it is to book the hotel directly, as our reservations were made through Expedia. We booked in June for a stay in late August.

I was working for one of the many chemical companies near the centre, and living in one of the smaller suburbs, Muttenz. I've been back in England now for three months (at the time of writing), and I miss it all like crazy.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel last year (07) for a couple of nights. We opted for the executive room and didn't relly notice anything executive about it. The bathroom was basic and had a leaky shower and mould on the wall. The floor in the room didn't reach the end wall/ window so you could see through the floor. The room had a really strong smell of smoke. The a/c was very noisy, making it difficult to get to sleep.
Breakfast was not a very pleasant experience. The choice of food mainly catered to those who could stomach Thai food and the fruit had flies on it.
The swimming pool was too cold to swim in.
The only plus for this hotel was its location, a few minutes walk from Nana skytrain station. Close to other hotels such as the Ambassador and The Landmark. ...
