A brief review of the Wiesn
Review of Oktoberfest, Munich by TestUser2

Advantages: Good Beer, Socializing
Disadvantages: Overcrowded on weekends

Hi Ciao Community, today I want to write a short essay about my 'recent' (2007) experience on the Oktoberfest ("Wiesn") in Munich, Germany. Unfortunately, I have forgotten a lot of that day since the beer they serve is fairly strong:-) But here's my view on the following key points: - Access to tents - Prices - Attractions 1) Access to tents Actually, and especially on a Saturday when I tried my luck, it is virtually impossible to enter a ...
...a place in one of the biergarten around the big tents. Solution: Make a reservation in advance (You must commit to 8persons, consuming 16 beers, and 8 grilled chickens, ~240EUR) 2) Prices In my opinion beer is not that much overpriced compared to the prices you pay in Munich in general (around 7-8 EUR for 1 liter). Food is quite expensive as far as i remember;-) 3) Attractions There's much overpriced new stuff - however, in my opinion it is best ... Read review

BMW museum
Review of BMW Museum - Munich by medgenie

Advantages: Very interesting
Disadvantages: na

Apart from being the country of sausages, Germany is also famous for cars which are of very good quality. One of the most well known brands is of course BMW(Bavarian Motor Works) and a visit to the museum of the firm in Munich will definitely appeal to car lovers. Just round the corner from the Olympic park, the museum contains exhibits of many of their well-known and most advancedly designed models. Apart from being a showroom, the place also serves ...
...and car technology. There are many games and exhibit that detail the mechanism and theory behind the design of the car-very informative and intreresting. You also have the change to try out some of the experiments available. I personally liked this part of the museum very much and i do appreciate the effort and research the firm put into the design of the car- definitely raise my interest of getting one myself. Apart from cars, another part of the ... Read review

A Standing Olympic Legacy
Review of Olympiapark, Munich by StereoMike1983

Advantages: Great history, Great views from Tower
Disadvantages: None Really

The 1972 Olympic Games, held in Munich, are widely remembered but for often contrasting reasons. On one side you have the remarkable performance of legendary Mark Spitz who won 7 gold medals in the pool. On the other you have the sad events when terrorists invaded the athlete's village and subsequently killed 11 Israeli athletes and coaches. However, alongside these events, there is still today a very real reminder of the Olympic Games when you visit ...
...Munich were awarded the Olympic games in 1966 and within 2 years they had started work on the central location for most of the events. The chosen location was Oberwiesenfeld, an unused WWII airfield about 4km north of the city centre. Under the Nazi regime this area had been due to be massively redeveloped as part of Munich being 'Capital of the Movement' but these plans had fallen by the wayside and in 1966 the site was home to an enormous pile ... Deutsches Museum München
Review of Deutsche Museum, Munich by BACK_IN_BLACK_DEVIL

Advantages: ...
Disadvantages: ...

So, now, nevertheless, I must also write sometimes a report from my new adoptive country, the German museum in Munich. Although I with museums, actually, so much in the hat do not have it draws me here once again. This may be probably due to the fact that it is so big to explore impossibly everything during one or two days and I do not have all exhibition by, but one after the other now even after several visits yet. To the museum one reaches best ...
...car can in Munich It is Pasing rather for a good price parking, on the week-end believe I even free of charge. In Pasing you can do yourselves in any city railroad purely placed, you must pay attention only to the direction. Free ones park and ride parking lots there is in Lochhausen (S8) or west cross (S5,6). Then in the city railroad you remain sit up to stop Isar gate. Then on foot there are maybe still 600 ms, as soon as to her the Isar has crossed ... Read review
