MORE THAN OKTOBERFEST
Advantages: FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN Disadvantages: You can´t sleep
...as at home therefore in Munich infer from my previous reports in the area of "journey" that I am homeless since I have studies conditionally spent more time abroad within the last 2 years. I nevertheless do not lay any claim to completeness, for this Munich is too large and various to give you a better understanding in the following text a pity actually because the "metropolis with heart" is a terrific town in almost all areas and I will this try. ... ...Traffic
Munich is attainable about a variety of motorways (and federal roads), you find coming in every route planner from the north about the A9 of Nuremberg/Berlin, of the west or the southeast about the A8, next to that still over the smaller motorways A92/94/95/96, but this one. A terrific patchwork is our ring motorway A99, this one unfortunately, surrounds only the west, the north and the east, however, in the south ends rather fast, so includes ...

Munich in December
Advantages: Christmas markets in Munich are great ! Disadvantages: Too many tourists and weather was terrible
Went to Munich for two nights in December 2005. The christmas markets were great. Very special. We stayed near the central train station and the location was very convenient. I am going to focus on two important tours in Munich here.
If you have little time in Munich, two things that you should miss are : The Third Reich Tour (there are a few tours to choose from and all start around 10.30am in the morning) and a visit to Dachau, the first concentration ... ...unknown to most casual tourists. Munich is the birthplace and headquarters of Nazi movement so this is the most important place to explore if you want a deeper understanding of Nazi movement and also of Hitler. There are many Third Reich tours in Munich and most of them cost 10 Euros per person. (From the brochures: You cannot experience a tour like this anywhere else because no other place has this history)
Dachau Concentration Camp:
In 1933, ...

Munich - A Beautiful Bavarian
Advantages: Beautiful City, Great Food, Wonderful Museums, Close to Alps Disadvantages: Too Many Tourists In The Summer
'In Munich Stands a Hofbräuhaus'…or so, roughly translated, runs one well-known staple of Munich's beerhall sing-alongs. For many who've never visited this charming city (and perhaps, even for a few who have…) this, along with the even better-known Oktoberfest, an event which, to all intents and purposes, is little more than the Hofbräuhaus writ large, condensed into a month & transferred on to a circus ground, is pretty much all that Munich amounts ... ...in Munich for about four years, in the late-seventies and early eighties. My earliest memories of the Hofbräuhaus involve sitting outside it in a parked Mercedes with my two brothers, when I was about six. Our father would drop in to have a beer, or two, with his German work colleagues, leaving us to wait squabbling in the back seat for an hour or so, occasionally bringing out pretzels, or a lemonade, to ease our thirst, if not our boredom. It seems ...

Relaxation city
Advantages: Laid-back, spotless, stacks to do Disadvantages: Packed during Oktoberfest
Munich - voted by Germans as the city they would most like to live - really is a must-stay, must-see place, particularly for couples who enjoy shops, restaurants, parks, palaces, gardens, sport and... beer! Even the area near the main train station isn't particularly seedy. The Marienplatz Square is great for people-watching and licking a tasty ice cream - and close by is the lavishly-stocked Viktualien Markt, which is full to overflowing with olives, ... ...Just standing at an 'Imbiss' eating a fresh sizzling sausage with your local beer is an experience. Very pleasant is the architecture, which is a mixed collection of Baroque, Rococo, neo-Gothic, modern and Jugendstil. There don't seem to be any monotonous or grey areas to the city.
Sunny afternoons can be spent in the sprawling Englischer Garden, complete with lakes, a couple of leafy beer gardens, follies, paths and bridges. The underground railway ...

The people still wear lederhosen!
Advantages: Almost Traffic free!! bikes are the way forward Disadvantages: A local place for local people
...Hofbrauhaus (the main brewery in Munich city centre) across the table sat a Munchener, proundly donning the traditional Lederhosen. Hugging his figure tightly he was clasping his mass of beer. It was a warm August afternoon and it left an unspoilt traditional image of munich which is exactly what it is. Although the influence of multi-national companies is evident, there remains a traditional peacuful bavarian culture in the city.
I thoroughly recommend ... ...most of the attractive sites Munich has to offer. The Architecture is breathtaking, varying considerably throughout the city. For those arty among us there are a number of galleries and museums with fantastic pieces, for a picnic, die englishche garten is a huge park (with some naked people in the summer) with live music, beer pretzels, potato salad, bacon joints and plenty of wurst and fleisch (sausages and meat)
As you see schloss (castle) after ...
