Munich is a great place to spend a few days or weeks. Apart from the world's biggest beerfestival which takes place every September it has a number of other attractions. Many museums (Europe's largest scientific Museum, Deutsche Museum, one of the finest art collections Alte Pinakothek), great parks (Englischer Garten), great shops and so much more. It is big enough to never get bored but small enough to get to most attractions within 1/2 hour with the excellent public transport. Within 30 mins you can go even go to the Alps. The people on the whole are very friendly and most speak English.
