Think Madame Taussauds then think Musee Grevin. A totally inauspicious entrance tucked amongst many, many shops takes you into a world of the famous and infamous, real and virtual (yes, even Lara Croft gets her own body here). There are many, many halls all leading off in different directions all with different themes - sports, literature, French Revolution, politics etc. etc. I didn’t recognize half of the waxworks because a lot of them were of French personalities. That aside, the one little treasure that would make me go back to Musee Grevin is its mirror show. A dazzling display of clever lighting combined with a 360 degree wall of facetted mirrors makes for a show that you’ve probably never ever seen before in your life. Miss it and you’ll regret it. From there you’re lead into a small theatre where a very entertaining magic show is performed. Then it’s back into the ‘real’ world of the museum again to continue your discoveries again. Visit the place about lunchtime and you won’t get caught up in the huge queues that form during the rest of the day.
