...El Meson de la Flota: Mercaderes b/ Amargura and Teniente Rey. Old Havana, Ciudad de La Habana, situated a few steps from the Old Square. La Meson de la Flota is found in a safe and renovated area of Old Havana. It is in fact more like a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel per se, but has the advantage of excellent food at reasonable prices (for tourist eating places - £10 for a lobster brochette, rice and salad - very filling and delicious) and live music every night with Cubano-Flamenco concerts. The drinks, especially Mojitos were great too and won't break the bank (£3-£4 each). The rooms have very high ceilings and are clean and newly painted, although the state of the bathroom lets the place down a bit, with a bit more wear and tear than I would expect in a hotel. ..., we looked through our guide books for museums that might interest us, and came across Musee de Curiosite et de la Magic. This is on Rue St Paul, less than five minutes walk from Notre Dame, so it's very convenient for the centre of Paris. Both of us have a little interest in magic, so we thought we'd take a look. ~~~ Exhibits ~~~ The museum offers a view of magic and magic acts from the eighteenth century to the present day. Most of the museum is made up of a few small rooms containing objects that were used by various magicians in their magic acts, for example the box that one magician put his assistant in for a sawing in half trick and collapsible cages for disappearing birds. These items all have bits of information with them, explaining, presumably, who used them and when. Unfortunately, the information is all in French... Read review

...The Hotel Condessa de la Bahia is part of the Mar Hotels chain, who offer, good, clean and comfortable rooms. This particular hotel is in the middle of Alcudia on a 7km stretch of pure golden sandy beach. The hotel lays directly on the sea front, so is ideal for those who want a beach holiday. The Hotel has 5 floors which is served by 2 lifts. The staff are very friendly and all staff speak English. Prices in the hotel are very reasonable - a large pina colada will set you back only 750PTE (under £3). A buffet breakfast and dinner is served with very flexible hours. I had one vegetarian guest with me and he was very well catered for. A full entertainment programme is available in High Season from end June onwards with activities during the day for all the family. The evenings enterainment is carried out on stage at the back...
