My boyfriend and I recently went on a short holiday to Paris, staying three nights near the centre. The first day was spent going round the really touristy areas: we went up the Eiffel Tower, looked at the Arch de Triumph, walked down the Champs-Elysees, looked at the Egyptian obelisk, walked through the Jardin des Tileries to the Louvre, and then collapsed with ice creams by Notre Dame to rest our aching feet. After a delicious dinner, we headed ... ...Then we had a problem. Having looked at so much on the first day, we weren't sure what to do on the second. Neither of us is much into art galleries. I'm not a great one for shopping and my boyfriend certainly isn't. At first glance, beyond the standard tourist traps, there isn't much to do in Paris that doesn't involve art or shopping.
