Full review
Hi! Today I´m going to write about a Spanish Museum, which is located in Madrid. Concretely trhis museum is on the street tre of Madrid.

First of all I think that is necessary to speak about Sorolla, whose museum is the theme of this opinion.

The Painter.

Joaquín Sorolla was a great Spanish painter who was born in Valencia (my city!!) in 1863 and died in 1923, after a long illness.

He started as an apprentice of the well-known sculptor José Capuz, and soon Sorolla became a great painter, whose paintings are shown in the best museum in the world such as "El Prado" in Madrid.

His success was not only in Spain, in fact he was, for example, signed up by the Hispanic Society in New York in order to paint some pictures of people in Spanish traditional clothing.

His style is the Impresionism, but his paintings have an evident influence of the Realism.

The Museum

The building in which is the museum, is a lovely house where Sorolla lived. Due to the fact the museum was ta particular house, it isn´t huge nor luxurious. It´s only a beautiful three-storey-house with three lovely gardens.

Visitors must get into the house before going across the garden. It is really beautiful because has many types flowers and plants and moreover it´s decorated with fuentes.

Once you´re inside the museum you can see that the house is kept as Sorolla still lived there. For example in the dining-room seems to be all ready to have the lunch.

The Paintings

Not all the pictures that Sorolla painted are there. However, there is an important number of them.

There are many portraits of his relatives, self-portraits, paintings of the Mediterranean sea and another that show us how people lived in the end of the XIX century and in the next century.

Moreover, there is a room where are exhibited the paintings he made for the Hispanic Society in New York. Thanks to these pictures we can know which the traditional dress is in each region of Spain.

The Tickets

This museum is property of the Spanish State, so the prices are low. In case you are under 18 years old or older than 65 years old, you´ll not have to pay anything for your ticket.

People who are student, take part in an artistic association or visit the museum with a group of at least twenty people, all they´ll have a discount, so their ticket costs only 1.20 Euros (less than a Pound)

Visitors who are not in any of the previous cases, to get in the museum they´ve to pay a ticket that costs 2.40 Euros (approximately 1.50 Pounds)

My Opinion

From my point of view it´s one of the most charming museum I´ve ever visited. It´s suitable for all the family, because it isn´t big, so children don´t get tired of paintings.

If you go to Madrid, don´t miss it, I´m sure you´ll not regret having visited it.

Ciao and thanks for your readings!
