Advantages: very interesting, and a very impressive Army Museum Disadvantages: a bit pricey compared to more mainstream attractions
...of the Seine, among the people whom I have loved so much."
The dome housing his tomb is of elaborate design, echoing past glories of Napoleon and his army. On the marble(?) floor of the building, going in a circle around the tomb, are engraved Napoleon's eight greatest victories: "RIVOLI-PYRAMIDES-MARENGO-AUSTERLITZ-IENA-FRIEDLAND-WAGRAM-MOSCOWA". Appropriate, for the man who was at one time master of Europe, and who so inspired the French nation for decades to come.
Next to the dome building is another church, with an array of battle banners taken by the French during the Napoleonic Wars. This is quite interesting to enthusiasts of the wars. I spotted flags from as far apart as Egypt and Holland.
After perusing the tomb and its environs, walking through the nearby Museedel'Armee (Army Museum) can easily take up the rest of the day...

Advantages: A unique city - try it! Disadvantages: Not for everybody - especially not glitzybods!
...of Las Vegas, the grit New York or even the grime of Toronto! Moreover, this is a city of relatively quiet charms, more suitable if you like for the mellow minions. Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, Québec remains a part of ‘old’ North America and is respected by Americans and other Canadians as such.
Although the city is rather small, it is hard for anyone to go short of things to do here, such is the cultural background and diversity of the place. To its advantage, Québec has an entwined history of cultures to include the obvious French and Canadian connection as well as English and Amerindian connotations. Advantages: Amazing art, fabulous food and serious shopping all in a beautiful city. Disadvantages: Too much to see in one weekend.
...violent French history but now are place purely for pleasure. The gardens were designed in 1664 by the same gardener who created the breathtaking gardens of Versailles. Amidst the fountains, statues and thousands of trees there are cafes to take refreshment and people watch. It is quite charming to watch the beautifully dressed French children enjoy old fashioned pursuits such as sailing model boats and donkey rides.
At the southwest corner of the Tuileries, near Place de la Concorde can be found Museedel’Orangerie which houses another small but quite impressive collection of impressionist paintings which includes 24 Renoirs, 14 Cezannes, some by Picasso and Matisse, Henri Rousseau, Utrillo, Modigliani, and Monet's huge but somewhat overrated water lily pictures. This museum costs 30FF and closes on Tuesday.
The Pompidou centre...

I have been a Muse fan since 2003 and the release of "Absolution". I have since seen them live 7 times, including the 16th June 2007 at Wembley Stadium.
So, as you would gather, I was looking forward to this DVD for a long long time. It was originally more
If you watched the 2004 Golden Globes you might have noticed that a feature length film called Angels in America was winning quite a few awards. And with a cast including Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Emma Thompson and Mary Louise Parker it sounded pretty... more
