The Museum Of The Moving Image (MOMI for short), next door to the National Film Theater, London is a wonder to behold. MOMI is a collection of memorabilia from the start of moving pictures to the present day, including films, cartoons, animation (there is a difference) to television and beyond. All the greats are there from Chaplin to Dali, and Oscar the Grouch to K-9. If you have the slightest interest in moving pictures (and that covers a LOT of subjects) then this is the place to go. There is a lot of reading for those who want the facts, but also a lot of pictures and loads of interactive displays for children young and old to play with, with special exhibits for younger children based around following Oscar the Grouch (from Sesame Street) around the museum.

Memorabilia is here by the bucketload, with sets from the BBC, to costumes from movies (Star Wars and 007 a specialty) and of course the nod towards Dr. Who.

MOMI have regular special exhibitions covering a wide range of topics. I would recommend a visit here to anyone, it is good value and you could easily spend most of a day in here. Make sure you take your camera with you and plenty of film.
