Advantages: Beautiful surrounding, nice shops, good food at reasonable prices Disadvantages: Not really in the league of some of the museums, too many people exhibiting themselves
...The Plaza Mayor is one of the most beautiful squares in the city of Madrid. It is surrounded by buildings, which are mostly around three or four stories high. On the ground floor of most of these buildings, there are restaurants and shops. The restaurants sell good food at fairly reasonable prices. The Plaza Mayor bustles with life and vigour; many people can be found exhibiting themselves, having sprayed themselves with silver paint and other such things. In the centre, there is a statue of Felipe the Third, who was unsuprising the king at the time. The buildings in the square are architectually stunning; a certain building is covered in fantastic murals. The nearest metro station to the Plaza Mayor is Sol. Personally, I believe that the Plaza Mayor is a fantastic place to visit over lunch one day, where you can sit and enjoy...

...We booked this hotel with a travel company, as we were booking a short theatre break, one night in a hotel , and one theatre evening at Theare Land. We did not know how far the hotel was from Theatre Land, but when we looked online to see the distance, and seeing how much taxi's would be. It turned out that it was around 5 - 10 minute journey to Theatre Land from Crowne Plaza. Booking was easy, we did it all over the phone, and it was a package eal. We had not been to the hotel before, and we found it a suprise as to what to expect. We did not have any problems with the booking. We did want to know after our booking how how far the hotel was to Theatre Land, as we did not have our own car with us, and we would rely on taxi's and public transport.
Getting to the hotel was easy. Normally looking for certain places in a busy area...

***********ROOMS************
Of the 347 rooms, 9 are suites that are out of this world. In particular, it has the suite known as El Reloj. This is a luxurious two-storey room with amazing views over the architectural complex of Plaza Espaņa and Montjuïc (sorry to say I didn't stay in it !!!).
However I cann't complain about my room. It had air-conditioning, a direct phone line, a beautiful marble bathroom with a hairdryer, a satellite TV (you can get pay-per-view films), a mini-bar (TIP - bring your own drinks into the hotel as the mini-bar costs a fortune), a safe and even Wi-Fi Internet access if I needed it !!!!

We had our superb buffet breakfast...

Booking a hotel in New York can be a somewhat bewildering experience - there is far too much choice! This can be a burden -your choice of hotel can make or break a holiday and with such a wonderful city as New York, it becomes even more important.
We more
Well im back onto the hotel reviews again after a recent visit to Ottawa in Canada. After freezing my buttocks off and nestling into my scarf grabbing my bags and rushing into the hotel I had little chance to look at the exterior of the hotel!
