The first thing to say is that the fares are incredibly low, as little as £199 or less return in economy. However, we always travel in their "Premiair ... ...a few flights around Christmas and Easter. The planes are used on winter sun routes at other times.
I would certainly recommend Mytravel Premiair Gold on transatlantic flights, and probably anywhere else they fly, although I think comfort would be an issue for many people in economy. ... more

The first thing to say is that the fares are incredibly low, as little as £199 or less return in economy. However, we always travel in their "Premiair Gold" cabin, because the economy seats are very cramped. Even then it is exceptionally good value. My mother is paying £452 return Toronto-Manchester in June.Upgrades can be purchased at the airport if space is available.
In Premiair Gold you get wider seats with extra legroom and free drinks (including champagne) and snacks, ice cream during the movies, and free headphones that you can take with you. On the return flight from Canada you get a very useful "amenity" kit. You also get 30kg of luggage as opposed to 20kg The food is the same as in economy, but it's not bad for airline food. In economy you pay for your drinks and headphones.
In both classes there are seatback TVs on the A330 planes, with a choice of three movies and various TV and music programmes. There is an extra movie in Premiair Gold. The movies play on an endless loop, so you can see two on a transatlantic flight, plus a few TV shows, and they are different in each direction.
The staff are friendly and efficient. In Premiair Gold you have a dedicated check-in and can pre-board. The safety demonstration is a bit twee, done by video presentation, although once this wouldn't work, so they resorted to a hilarious old-fashioned demo. "The lifevest is equipped with a light and a whistle for attracting passing sailors!"
Oh yes, and on take-off and landing, there is a camera at the front of the plane which is relayed to the video screens. This can also be viewed during flight if the passing clouds are more interesting than the movies.
Flights have always departed and arrived on time, although on one occasion the lack of a free gate at Gatwick caused us to sit for 30 minutes. We tend to fly from Manchester, which is Mytravel's main base, where they have a dedicated check-in hall.
Baggage handling is my only minor quibble. Premiair Gold passengers are supposed to get priority baggage delivery, but when five of us flew recently to Ottawa, my bag was the very first on the belt, the others came at varying times, and the bag of one in our party was the very last! A similar thing happened on the return to Gatwick.
Canadian Affair is holding prices for next summer to this year's levels until the end of 2003, so there are bargains to be had. There are also often last-minute seat sales.

After making the decision to go to Las Vegas for our summer holiday, my boyfriend and I set about looking for the best (and most convenient) flights available. To travel for a week in June we were looking the region of £500-£600 for direct flights with Virgin, BA et al, and even flights which included lengthy transfers were around £450.
It's easy to seen then, why we were so impressed when we stumbled across My Travel Airways, who were offering ... ...Las Vegas for the bargain basement price of £264 including all taxes. We'd heard of My Travel (formerly Airtours) before and had flown with their budget-airline arm, My Travel Lite on a couple of occasions before, so were happy to book with them. We read the small print looking for the 'catch', but couldn't find one, other than the fact that that this flight-only arrangement didn't provide a meal. MyTravel Airlines used to be called Airtours (and British Airtours before that), but was rebranded in 2002 after Airtours group was taken over by the MyTravel group. They are a charter airline that operate out of the UK, mainly to European and other short haul destinations.
In January my partner and I travelled with them from London Gatwick to Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). We booked a late deal over the phone through Airtours and got our entire holiday ... ...opt out of flying with MyTravel again!
All in all, the seats were cheap and cheerful, with drinks and snacks sold on board at good prices. Both flights left on time. The service, however, was minimal and unfriendly, more like a budget airline service than a leading charter company. The safety procedures video was a joke... ...

Ended up on MyTravel Airlines as a result of booking through Canadian Affair from Toronto to London.
Checkin was not advertised ... had to march up and down the hall a couple times to find who was checking them in.
Checkin was straightforward and as a seasoned air traveller, it was as it should be, even if the agents weren't the friendliest people in the world.
Departure was delayed due to late arriving aircraft on the inbound flight from London.
... ...by rows, people just swarmed the boarding area.
The aircraft, an A330 was bright modern and clean. That's where the advantages ended. In the configuration chosen by MyTravel, it was 3 - 3 - 3 across ... that's 9 seats where most airlines use 2-4-2 i.e. 8 across. So, unless you are fortunate and sit beside two very skinny people, you are going to feel cramped sideways. On this flight, I had an average male sitting next to me who had his elbow in ...

MyTravel Airways (MYT) is the new name for Airtours, a Manchester-based company that has provided holidays for many years. However now they're going bankrupt as they've found that by expanding, they've got too big for their own good by taking over any company they see fit.

My in-laws live abroad (I know - lucky me) so I'm a seasoned Internet trawler when it comes to finding the best value flights. Lordy Lord did I get it wrong this year!! I spend considerable time looking for the best bargain and use several websites as standard which I compare daily, as well as looking for new sites to try. I thought I'd got a good deal this year, opting for My Travel flights via the cheapestflights website. It started off badly when ... ...incorrectly onto all the travel agents' websites. Your confirmation read one date and not until the tickets arrvied did it become clear that you were actually coming home the following day. The flaw of waiting till the last minute to book is that there's little you can do to get out of the arrangement as you don't have time. I was very restricted with dates this year and it mattered a lot whether we arrived back in the UK on the Friday or the Saturday ...

Dubai Experience
I have been travelling on Emirates from 2001 and me and my wife had accumulated about 30,000 skyward points. Of this about 13,000 were to expire on End-Sept-2005 and I thought it may be a good idea to use them. There was a London to Dubai offer for 20,000 points to be used in October and I picked it up. We flew from London Heathrow by EK006 on 28-October-2005 and came back on 2-Nov-2005.

Over the years I have been to Paignton Zoo lots of times so I thought I would write a review and recommend it to everyone so here is my day at the zoo and what I thought of it.
Having been here before I knew to wear a comfortable pair of shoes not a time for high heels girl?s comfortable shoes as the day involves some walking (lets just say there is 75 acres). I would recommend that you don?t set yourself an hour or two to get round the zoo this is basically an all day trip as there is so much to see and do.
Well we got to the zoo at about 10am the zoo has just opened and already it was busy, first stop is to buy the guide book costing £2.50 which does seem a little bit pricey however it contains a map, a break down of the areas, what you can do to help the zoo and other things its overall 44 pages of good reading.
