Excellent hotel in Vienna

Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff.
Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral

The Hilton Vienna Plaza is an excellent hotel located on the Ringstrasse in Central Vienna, I will talk more about the hotels location later on. Before I arrived at the hotel I emailed the manager with a few questions about the local area and the hotel etc. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and I received an email back with all of my questions answered which was helpful. It took around twenty minutes to get to the hotel from the Airport, although on my way back to the airport at the end of my stay it took about thirty minutes because of heavier traffic. Check-in was fast and very efficient, the hotel staff were friendly and gave me a map of the local area. I booked to stay in a standard king room, the rooms at the hotel are a very nice size. Small, but perfectly formed hotel in Vienna

Advantages: Classy, comfortable, fantastic breakfast
Disadvantages: Not overly expensive, but the rates match how nice it is

, the Altstadt Vienna certainly fitted the bill. It was just right for a romantic stay and was the perfect base for our weekend. Location = The Altstadt Vienna is situated in an old-fashioned Viennese apartment building. As you enter the hallway you have to go up the wide and sweeping stone staircase to get to the reception which is on the first floor. Also on this floor is the 'red salon' and breakfast area (more on this anon), the 42 rooms are spread across the 2nd and 3rd floors. Because it is not a custom built hotel building, it feels like a slice of 'real Vienna'. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk (to the west) of the famous Vienna Ringstrasse where all the grand buildings are and a further 5 minutes to the heart of the city. Hilton Hotel, Vienna

Advantages: Great Central Location with efficient staff
Disadvantages: Small gym and Spa

This is a smart and clean hotel in the central part of Vienna. The capital is within walking distance but the hotel is also close to the tram stops making travel even easier. Consider booking via their website or an independent agent, for best prices. Apply for the 'free' Hilton Honours card (rewards available and priority checkin & checkout). The staff are helpful and nothing is too much. Breakfast is very good with a varied choice of foods. The hotel bars are small but never seemed to get fully packed out. Ask for some nuts and a bowl for free will be supplied. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Its very clean throughout. The gym is tiny but there is a spa and its suitable to take a glass & drinks into. I've given it a 5star excellent rating as it was fault free. The service is superb, the hotel clean and tidy ...
